Every other town seemed to have a thread on this so didn't want my hometown missing out.

How about Cheers Sports Bar & Grill at 11475 San Jose Boulevard or Lillian's Sports Bar at 5393 Roosevelt Boulevard?

Just guessing mind you. Never been to Florida in my life.

I would say the first was more likely. I think I went in there when I was in Jacksonville a few years back and it struck me as very much an Albion kind of place :p

On a serious note, how did you end up in JAX, Billy Mays? I'm curious, it's not one of those places packed with Brit expatriates is it? I thought it was nice enough, as it goes, and the weather was great. It seemed to be more of a Southern city than a Florida one, if that makes sense? I've found the further north in Florida you go, the more Southern it gets.

Both good calls. Or how about Idaho Pete's Sports Bar and Truck Stop out on I-75? They often have Tex-Mex and Division One soccer evenings. Probably.

I'll be watching at Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty in Cocoa Beach, but I guess thats too far to travel.

Isn't Cullanes(?Cullhanes?) in Jax showing it, got a big screen in there.

You went to Cheers Edna? I've lived less than 5 miles from that place for the past 5 years , drive past it on the way to and from work every day and have still never darkened it's doorstep. Looks like a den of truck driving , Nascar and Bud loving rednecks to my untrained eye.

Moved to Jville with my job (Merrill Lynch). After 17 years of commuting by train into the City it's a very nice lifestyle change. Would have to agree with the part about it being probably more Southern than Floridian though. Thank god for the 40 or so miles that separate me from the border with Georgia I say. There are altogether too many Bulldogs fans here for my liking.

Will have to follow the game on the Argus blogsite which is my usual routine for midweek games. Did fleetingly think Fax Saccer Channel might be showing it but sadly not to be.

Haha, I can't remember which bar I went in, I just know it was a sports bar & grill place and it was by the river in the downtown area. Would have been six or seven years ago I guess.

I was on a work jaunt around northern Florida. Flew into Orlando and drove up the coast to Daytona (not that nice, St Augustine (much better) and up towards J'ville Beach, Jupiter, Atlantic Beach, via Ponte Vedra etc, where all the expensive houses and golf courses are if I recall.

Had to fly home out of Atlanta but fortunately I got a connecting flight, thus avoiding the need to drive up through the backwoods of Georgia at night <gulp>
