Do you ever speed?

If the answer is 'never' then you are a boring arse who is part of the problem at Withdean! It may be the law, but it doesn't mean it is not an ass!

So you're suggesting the club just ignores the law and safety certificate conditions ?

Why not change the question to "Do you ever drink and drive ?", if I said no to that would I still be a boring arse ?

Er, that might be because they've been playing shit recently ???

Btw I sat in C block yesterday and it was quite quiet, apart from some deserved lino-haranguing and the moany old fu*ker sitting behind me being told to shut up by someone who'd had enough of his carping...

Oh, and the footy was pony...

Guilty as charged, sir!

yeah i see the f.a. telling the kop to sit don every week. Afraid we are saddled with Ken Brown and his recod at Millwall speaks for itself Wall fans couldnt stand him and now e have a similar angle going on at albion. Sit down shut up and all ticket away games for no reason.

Where the hell do we keep finding these idiots?

FA Rules / Terms for the use of Withdean, etc, are rules that govern how we use the ground, these rules were set by other ruling bodies not the club!

Those bodies can either fine and/or close the sections of the ground where persistant standing occurs, or in the case of the council, revoke our permission to use Withdean, meaning that the club has nowhere to play.

Do you think that to allow a couple of people to stand is really worth jeopardising the club?

The club can't have pay on the gate for home games for the same reason, it would be against the terms and conditions we have to abide by to use Withdean.

it is a fact of everyday football now, at ever ground, if you don't agree with it, write to your MP, start a campaign, anything but moan about and blame the club for something that they can do nothing about.

So are you advocating breaking laws?

What laws are acceptable to break and which arn't? wheres the thin red line?

Is it ok to speed, ok to mug someone, or shoplift, how about robbing someones house, arson, assult, etc, etc, or would that make someone a boring arse and part of the problem at Withdean.

If you are caught speeding, you can get fined, banned or even imprisoned, so if thats a risk you are willing to take then so be it, but should the club take risks so you can stand, when it is them, not you that face the consequences (sections where standing occurs can be closed, fines etc)

Guy Fawkes, as ever its aquestion of balance. Liverpool, Spurs and frankly almost every club in the country are not t risk of being carted off to jail, and they are not breaking the law. Common sense Gy Fawkes, common sense, we simply have had enough of stewards destroying peoples fun. If they want to stand to sing a song the plase mate, please, just bloody let them eh? The world and the british Justice system wll not come to an end, and no its not illegal for them to do so - sake, i ask you

Westdene, you are tiresome and I cant be arsed. Read my posts if you want to understand my view. I do not, as do the kop / Lverpool police, or the north stand at Spurs / the Met, or the Leeds Kop / Yorkshire police or the... agree with you. Either way, its a freedom of expression thing, you do what you want and let others do the same. Honestly mate, the world will not com to an end, and you know, it really is not illegal to allow a football fan to stand up and sing a song at a football match. Its a question of balance even under the curren law - sake I really do wonder at times

To quote Aston Villa's matchday programme (as you seem to think that its only Brighton officials that try to prevent standing at games)

Safety and Security
Remain seated
Villa Park is an all seater stadium, and spectators are required to remain seated. Any areas where people persistently stand are likely to be closed next season for safety reasons. This is not an idle threat. Please act responsibly so that the enjoyment of other people and the reputation of Villa Park is not ruined.

Our club does not have the capacity at Withdean to allow for a section of the ground to be closed for games next season.

If you are unhappy with the rules, write to the FA asking for a review, or start a campaign to get it changed, i'm sure that there will be plenty of support from fans of all clubs for limited safe standing to return to matches.

May i suggest you check this out and maybe join up The Football Supporters' Federation - Campaigns of the Football Supporters Federation

We also work on the campaign for Safe Standing in conjunction with our friends at Stand Up Sit Down. The campaign is on hold at present but succeeded in persuading the Liberal Democrats to back Safe Standing while more than 100 MP's also signed an Early Day Motion backing the FSF's stance.

Have the noise levels dropped at Withdean because we finally won our battle for Falmer, alot of the noise we used to have was related to our yes to Falmer campaign after all. The end of the campaign sort of coincides with the start of our poor run at home and lack of atmosphere.

Have we just run out of ideas to sing about and/or lack leaders to start us off generating noise at home games?

I wouldn't worry - he's thick as two short planks and is a marketing genius ( in his own mind ). He can't understand the difference between pay on the gate and pay one the day. In fact he would probably struggle to contruct a letter to the FSF.

Withdean + Shocking Home form for 2 seasons = Crap match day atmosphere.

Over zealous stewards also do not help.

I think we are guilty of over analyzing.

A typical football atmosphere is never going to generated at Withdean, we were only meant to be at Withdean for a few years not a decade. I also get the feeling that some of the more vocal fans have given up on Withdean and only go to the away games because they dislike the atmosphere at witdean, to me this is a big cop out.

I for one shout and chant and sit in E block and im sure if we had a roof the atmosphere would not be that bad.

I'm also going to start singing again, I'm going to see about either A) Moving up the top of the C block and singing from there, or B) moving to H or J.

I like my seat at C, its on the edge of the area and everything, but to have no atmosphere.

That said, we do get pretty animated about the lino and what not, so its not as dead as we make out, theres just a lack of constant singing.
