The same Man who " prostitued for a bigger job " himself by staying at Motherwell after his captain died and ruling himself out of probably getting the Scotland job.

Note quite how it happened, but yes he did say that he would not start as Scotland manager until the then current season had ended.

That said, he was never offered the Scotland Managers job, and according to the SFA was never in the running for the job (although they did interview him so I have never understood that particular comment). Suggested by many that he only mentioned that he would delay becoming Scotland's manager (if offered) because it made him look like he had a reason not to be given the role (I think that is rubbish - IMHO he was exemplary during the period after Phil's death).

Still does not change the fact that he regularly used the press to advertise the fact that he was looking for a move despite being gainfully employed. Its one thing to get a move because you have been noticed, its another thing to advertise your availability whilst at the same time, pleading with players to demonstrate loyalty!

See the post I started, you'll get it !

I know, I know. I was just attempting to get a nibble on the bait from Apocalypse Wanderer, but sadly he appears to be laying waste to larger fry at the mo innit.

I cannot agree with all this about Whing as he is woefully inadequate for this division and has shown it for 2 seasons yet some fans voted him Player of The Year based on a couple of last ditch tackles. The same goes for Jake Wright he is nowhere near good enough for division 1 as he has proved elsewhere in his career and to my mind was a panic buy by RS. I would expect both of those to be offered out on loan or transferred in January.

And how many times have you seen Wright play in his preferred position i.e. not left back?

We will not go down we have just played the 3 best teams in the league in very quick succession without being able to get any proper training going on. Players will arrive in January I have no doubt about that but the basis of a good team is there just needs some tweaking. McNulty back will be a huge difference as it will allow Bennett to concentrate on what he does best, going forward on the right, and will also add a bit of balance to the team.

Yes yes, I know Charlton ARE a top three side as we speak, but do you seriously think their performance tonight looked anywhere near resembling that of a top three side ?, because I don't.

I think it did in terms of defending very well. They got tight, they blocked shots, they stopped us creating any decent chances despite us dominating possession. They were less acomplished than Leeds in that they had a more safety first approach of put the ball out of play rather than try to play out of defense. They didn't have that many chances but took two of them and perhaps should have done better with a couple more. They've scored a fair number of goals from set pieces this season and did so again. They're no Leeds but Leeds are exceptional.

With a home record like ours at present, we deserve to go down. There is no doubt that by the end of the season, the games lost at home will be in double figures. Not good enough in any league !!!
