Do not believe the falacy that New York never closes. If in Times Sq you will have trouble getting anything to eat other than fast food burgers etc after about 10pm. Have a walk down to Chelsea and visit the bars but beware some will make you high as you walk in with the smell of dope. It is great for weekend dont know that I would want to be there longer.

BEWARE......:laugh::laugh:

Finally jump on the L train and come over to Williamsburg where all the cool hipsters live (like me...)

yeah, i went to bedford avenue for nights out, williamsburg music hall and lots of little clubs, good bars with not-as-expensive drinks (you can get this funny PBR beer in a can for 3 bucks!) and loads of record stores.

i had such fun in williamsburg.

i'd recommend walking the length of beecker street aswell from spring street up to greenwich, the atmosphere is great.

and get a metrocard!

It is a long time ago that I was in New York so the memory is a bit hazy, a few of the highlights were lunch in a Russian cafe at Brighton Beach, we were the only people speaking English...then went for a walk on the boardwalk, which was deserted save for a couple of old blokes playing chess with their board resting on an upturned oil barrel...it was Christmas Day and bloody freezing, but they didn't seem bothered!

Went to a motorbike themed restaurant one evening, may have been called Harleys (or something like that), the portions were absolutely massive. The Met museum is worth a visit, if art is your bag!

Could have been Primorskis – I took a mate there with his Russian missus, she said it was the best Russian restaurant she’d been to outside Moscow. Good food and choice of vodkas with a sort of ongoing Russian karaoke – only thing missing was the mafia.

I seem to recall hearing that brighton beach has the highest number of Russians outside of Russia.

I love cycling down there from brooklyn and then along the boardwalk to Coney Island
