What's his games to goals ratio now? 29 in 5 or something?! Regardless of whether he's good or not, you can't deny he's the side's Jonah!! Poor bloke.:nono:

24 goals conceded in 5 full games, plus two half games (minus a couple of minutes).

That's f***ing dreadful then. 5 per game on average. And he's played 5 (FIVE!) times now! He's not doing much for Scottish keepers reputation is he?!! :facepalm::ohmy:

Not wanting to kick a man when he is down - but when I see the Albion I do like to see the pre-match warm-ups. Smith is most unconvincing. He does not "look like a goalkeeper". A bit nebulous - but the good keepers seem to take a pride in looking big and keeping out even the shots in the warm-up. They seem to impose themselves. Kuipers takes this approach. Smith just does not look that bothered.

I thought the same about Sullivan - and was not too upset when he was allowed to leave. This may all be a load of tosh - and I do hope Smith turns out to be one of our great keepers. But he does not give me a warm feeling that the ball is safe in his hands.

The thing that pisses me off most about Smith was what he did at the end of the Leyton Orient game, right in front of the Albion fans. We were 1-0 down with a minute or so to go, the ball went out for a goal kick. Instead of running after the ball and booting it down field he nonchalantly strolled over to retrieve the ball. Casually set it down, few steps back. Looked up, waited, thought about it for a bit longer and then eventually kicked it. Where is the passion and desire to win?

Do you know for a FACT that Sullivan wasnt bothered about being let go? or was it becuase he didnt SLAG the club off and got on with things like a PRO should?

On goal kicks last night, if the ball went off on the right side he would retrieve it then take it across to the left side to take the kick, no urgency.

And as for his kicking (something Kuipers often get's moaned at for) it was woefull. he took one free kick, pushed everone up, and kick it straight along the wing & out of play.

He doesn't bounce around like a keeper or stride around his area. he just stands still. he looks like a kid that's been put in goal because he's no good on the pitch. I'm sure the disallowed goal was because the ref thought he was about to cry!

For a totally meaningless but nevertheless interesting comparison, in 1984-85 one Graham Moseley conceded 34 goals in being ever-present in a 42 game season.
