iPod Help please

GOD these are shit....anyway I'm putting music on for a mate, she wants a seperate folder for her stuff and her hubbys in his own folder. in iTunes I get the DEVICES > iPod Name > MUSIC which currently holds all his stuff, HOW do I create another folder underneath MUSIC to put her stuff into?

would normally be a simple Add Folder... to any other normal MP3 player but this is just pony...help please!!

Just create a different playlist for each of them, nice and easy, plus you never have to duplicate tracks, therfore more space for more music and movies.

Yup this.

on 'any other mp3 player' you'd have to duplicate tracks if you wanted to put a folder in.

Create the playlist in iTunes and sync it to the iPod.

Yup, in iTunes, click ctrl+N, or File > Create Playlist, give it a name for the first person, do the same for the other person. Then select all the music you want for one, and drop it onto their playlist, likewise for the other. Then plug in the iPod and pick up the two playlists and drop them onto the iPod, all the music will be copied to the iPod and the playlists created there too. It's not strictly as straight forward as on a non iPod player, but it does avoid duplication, and once you're used to it it's OK.

yeah I alreayd chucked all his stuff on without a playlist so just added her name to the bottom and added more songs, f*** knows if its done it right but its all on there and thats all that matters! thanks for the help.

looking forward to hearing what the sound quality is like on this Classic as I've heard a Nano & Shuffle and they were both shit....I'll report back

I used my own Sennheiser (sp?!) for the nano & shuffle and have them on stand-by for the classic....waiting for it to charge fully as I dont wanna break it!!

Atomic Floyd headphones (a new-ish company set up just to do headphones) are brilliant. Make your ipod/iphone sound like a top hi-fi. And they're so well-made they last, not like all the other crap. Not cheap, mind.

sound quality is actually alright, first iPod that I've listened too and thought that, still not better than my Cowon and I'd still never own an iPod...no DAB Radio for starters....RUBBISH!

New iPod nanos have fully integrated FM radio, can even tag songs and buy them there and then.

Surely sound quality is decided by the file type and the sample rate. MP3 sounds shit to me all of the time, I always import songs in AAC on my classic. There's no point in having all that space if you're going to ruin your music with a shit sample rate.

Unless I'm wrong and MP3 sounds better on other players?!?

Try listening to a MP3, Flac, anything in the same bitrate with a glorious pair of sennheisers versus apples rubbish headphones, makes a world of difference.

Apple portable music devices have come out very badly in recent reviews.

You can much something much better, for less money.

It's as simple as that.

Unless of course you want to buy into the "lifestyle", in which you probably don't care as long as it's got white headphones.

yeah I have Rancid - Live In Brighton on FLAC and its f***ing amazing, trouble is I burnt 80% of my collection when MP3s were new so most of them are 128 to 320 so nothing amazing, still I can tell the difference on different players and I utilise the EQ settings as best I can to get the perfect sound. Headphones, as said above, go a massive way to getting proper quality music.

OK then, I'm sure "selected" (ie very few) reviews have marked it down, but me and you know that MOST reviews will agree that it is pretty much THE portable music device out there.

Also, that bottom line is such a myth, you keep going on about it but no one is showing them off and almost all people have admitted they have swapped the headphones as the Apple ones are RUBBISH.
