If we could get permission from Motherwell do you think we should try and convince Gannon to come here (assuming Bloom wants Slade replaced of course)

Seems to me that having managed 5 of our 1st team squad that he would be the manager most likely to turn things around quickly.

Absolutely not...He didn't want to join us when he was offered the chance last January and shouldn't be approached now...Also, why would he want to join us now when he's got the chance of european football next year with Motherwell?

Absolutely. Why give up Motherwell just to have half a season with us? For whatever reason he had a lucky escape and he knows it.

You make it sound like you think the Albion job is a poisoned chalice. We are a season and a half away from Falmer, that in itself should make the Albion job attractive long term. I take it you are suggesting he would only last the rest of the season before everyone is calling for his head? That would totally depend on the results, which I would expect to be good having seen his Stockport record and he seems to have started Ok at Motherwell too.

I said on another thread does anybody REALLY think that the next ALbion manager will lead us out at Falmer? It's one and threequarter seasons away. Given that Slade (if sacked now or soon) will have lasted less than half a season we could well be on our FOURTH new manager by the time Falmer opens. OK, I'm exaggerating a bit and we could of course get lucky and maybe one might even last a full season, but hopefully you see the point.

So yes, I currently see the Albion job as a poisoned chalice. Who wants 'Failed at Brighton' on their CV? When we get to Falmer it might change, but I think all the smart cookies will give us a wide berth for the next twelve months or so.

I cannot see why the next management team, assuming it is the right one will not lead us out at Falmer.

Allegedly the reason Bloom didnt get Pardew, his choice, was because he wanted to bring in a complete new backroom team and wanted a 3 year contract to enable him to completely rebuild the playing side of things and that was too much for us at the time.

Would assume the same would now be required if we got any named manager

You've answered it yourself: 'assuming its the right one'. That's a pretty big assumption; I'm sure some people thought that Adams would lead us out at Falmer. For us fans it's obviously all about opinions and of course we might well get lucky and end up with the right management team - but you've got to admit that based on what's happened at the club over the last three years or so my scenario is the more likely one.

No, he didn't want to come here before so sod him, plus there are a lot better managers going spare right now.

If we get Coppell then yes.

We have players who don't really want to be here and now you want a manager who doesn't really want to be here too? Genius that!

Isn't the current averag run in charge of the Albion less than a year? Maybe with 6 months to go until falmer we'll be seen as an attractive option, but right now, with our current rate of management change, we're probably two managers away from the guy who will lead us out at Falmer.

You are kidding yourself if you believe that Gannon would leave Motherwell for Brighton.
He has turned down the job once - time to move on IMHO

What kind of loser would go into a job assuming they will fail?

My thinking is that Gannon got the best out of 5 of the current players here so stands a reasonable chance of being able to get us winning more quickly than most new managers could achieve.

I'm a bit dismayed that two people on this thread seem to have accepted that we are a bunch of losers that can't be turned around. If you and Brovion and many other fans really believe that we are nailed on losers until we reach Falmer, maybe we are getting the results we deserve

I have been a Slade in right up until Saturday, but there is something very wrong behind the scenes at this club to be underachieving the way we are.
