The local news has just done a report about a woman who was attacked on a train for not other reason that she is very fat, and who is now proposing that discrimination against fat people should be treated in the same way from a legal standpoint as racism, sexism or homophobia.

Thoughts?

To be fair, you can't control your race, gender or sexual orientation and MOST of the time you can control being fat, so I don't think there should be laws.

What next? bingowing-ism ?

Being fat is a choice, and they should be ridiculed on the street until they are so embarrassed that they lose weight to gain back some respectability.

I like Gervias's idea of putting all the sweet/fattening items in a supermarket into a separate room. In order to access the room you'll have to climb through a tube which will only let people through who are under a certain circumference.

Being fat is a choice, if you don't want the abuse, go on a diet.

Test's have shown that some obese people are addicted to eating and their brain reacts the same way as an alcoholic or someone addicted to drugs when their favourite foods are put in front of them.

Surely this is Darwins theory in operation ?.... Survival of the Fittest... too fat to run ?

However, if there was a sudden Ice Age she would make for great heating in an igloo

being fat is a choice in a similar way to smoking and for some people can be as hrd to stop, therefore i suggest a no fat people in enclosed public places law, give us normal people bit of extra breathing room

I'm afraid you are very wrong.

Yes, some people are overweight through over eating, lack of activity.

But a lot of people are overweight through various medical conditions which is not their fault.

You can't tar everyone with the same brush.

Whatever reason they are overweight for does not give people the right to abuse or attack them.

California has 'fatist' laws and as we are becoming as fat as Yanks why not give some legal recourse to the fat bastards.

I saw that. Doctors can no longer talking about someones weight if they dont want to. So what if it is weight related? they have to ask them to leave and then be sued for not treating them

I actually hate fat people. I don't know why but i do. Well of course i know why. It's because they are fat! Thus they must be bullied for it will make them lose weight.

There are 2 types of fat people

1. the ones that whine and moan about being single, fat and blame everyone else for being fat - I hate these

2. Jolly fat people - i like these

Isn't it just illegal to attack people for any reason? As Tina Turner once sang "What's fat gotta do with it?"
