It looks so easy on paper. Why has nobody thought of this before? Number 7 should be worth watching.

Number 7 is hilarious. It's so simple, why didn't Labour think of it?

I was thinking that! To be honest I think the others are all (quite) good ideas, and I love the idea of a Bill of Rights, but 'sorting out the national debt and government spending'? He might as well say 'Cure all cancers and AIDS' that's probably just as realistic.

Regarding marriage and families... why should I pay more tax because I am unmarried and do not have children? This always annoys me a little.

I realise that one day I will come to be grateful of this fact, but in the mean time could somebody explain to me the logic of incentivising marriage?

7 is quite brilliant. And off the top of my head as we've got "full prisons" already how's that work?

I wouldn't say Cameron would want to cure AIDS as it mostly kills Africans and Gays, he's probably quite in favour of it

Because lots of people are married and have kids and vote.

CAMERON'S 10-POINT PLAN
1. Freeze council tax for two years, saving typical families £200; but you have to take your own rubbish to the tip
2. Re-assess 2.6m people on Incapacity Benefit in a welfare clampdown;until they are reassessed, they have no idea how much will be saved
3. Replace Human Rights Act with a Bill of Rights: semantics
4. Reduce number of MPs by 10 per cent, ministers pay by 5 per cent, cut quangos; which quangos and which constituencies. I rather see him throw out his MPs that abused the spirit of the expense system rather than just the likes of McBride et al
5. Honour the Military Covenant and ensure troops are properly equipped; agree
6. Cut corporation tax to create jobs more public sector cuts to fund this, reform inheritance tax to encourage saving so, we are all going to be encouraged to save so that we have upto a £1m inheritance tax free!, reward marriage and families via tax and benefits bribe people to stay in unhappy relationships and reward those that don't actually need the encouragement.;
7. Sort out national debt and public spending; why didn't GB and NC think of this one, it must have been staring them in the face
8. Give head teachers the final say on exclusions to restore discipline in schools no right to appeal! Doesn't that go against the spirit of English law?;
9. Suspend ratification of the Lisbon Treaty if it is not in force and hold a referendum;hopefully they will provide masses of literature to fully explain to the electorate rather than just rely on the Daily Mails headlines to put the arguements across.
10. Double magistrates' sentencing powers from six months to a year, harsher penalties for knife crime, cut police paperwork so more are on the beat. presumably he is going to fund the building of even more prisons

DC is a muppet.

1. My Labour Controlled Council has freezed Council Tax for 4 years running.

But that's a local decision voted for by the electorate. Democracy means democracy, if we vote a local administration to raise the council tax then that is our decision. National Politicians need to stick to managing national budgets. Leave local democracy alone and that's one of the main reasons people feel disenfranchised.

2. Reassessment of Incapacity Benefit is already and continually being undertaken?

3. Gimmick, basically as a Nation we have signed up to a range of international treaties, such as the Geneva Convention and we have our own UK law, whatever, it is called 99% will stay the same.

4. Again an attack on democracy, and why. Yes we loose 60 MP's but so what and imagine the costs of refining the boundaries, unless that is the point, politically gerrymander labour voting area inner city areas. Smells to me.

5. Nought wrong in giving our troops protection, lets cut trident and spend the cash on the NHS, Education and our military personnel.

6. Weird compilation. Reform inheritance tax? Back to looking after there own on this one.

7. Sort out national debt, Brown is saying that as well. At the last election the difference in planned public spending between all parties was less than 1%, so lets see what is being planned here?

8. Fine as long it is not based on discrimination, black boys 5 times as a likely to be expelled than white boys? Not really a strategic national issue is it? I seem to miss the bit about investment in schools especially our inner city schools and how to we get the best teachers into the worst performing schools?

9. Well Lisbon will probably be here in a week or two?

10. Fine and a need to coordinate between Police, magistrates and CPS, my mate is a magistrate and the system is a mess.

Conclusion.

I am not over whelmed. Lots of minutia here but very little of the detail and few of the big 10 are actually nationally strategic are they?

What about a reform of the Tax system
Policies on the transportation system of the UK.

Policies on reducing unemployment.

Policies on a homes improvement programme.

Policies on reducing our carbon foop[rint.

Policies on improving our manufacturing industry?

Basically, the Plan amounts to a bit of tinkering around the edges.

1. Freezing council tax when we've got deflation - big f***ing deal.
2. Less Incapacity Benefit, but the bugger splay the system so well they'll get it back in tax credits, undeclared trading income, and crime will go up as a result.
3. What does that mean for the man in the street. I didn't even know we had a Human Rights Act that was defective.
4. Less MPs = less representation for the people, and lower income will force most into taking paid directorships, so less work done for the people.
5. Great, the troops will be properly equipped just as soon as we're about to pull out of the Middle East.
6. Cutting tax when tax revenues have already fallen by 9% - you should be slashing government spending before you cut tax you cretin.
7. So vague as to be a meaningless platitude.
8. Yeah, that's REALLY going to restore discipline and make a fundamental change in the causes of anti-socia and disruptive behaviour.
9. Great - come in and put the breaks on EU co-operation, good signals to our Euro partners.
10. More police on the beat = greater cost but thru less taxation. The Tories brought in the bureaucracy and police league tables in the 90s, they've been saying this shit but not delivering for decades.

really to get off the leftist high horse there, with the current threashold at £325k this tax kicks in for alot of ordinary people, hitting hardest those families who didnt realise they would be over (meanwhile those knowing they were wealthy can side step it). why should you pay tax a second time on money you've saved?
