Been there, trying to get back, we were shit. Apologies for not waxing lyrical.

Well I didn't think we were shit towards the end. We could well have won it.

However, as this was my first game of the season I can see what everyone has been complaining about.

Not really working at the moment is it.

It just shows how some peoples expectations are so low when a point at Millwall is considered a cracking result.
Funny but to reach the Championship in the so called 2 seasons we need to average 2 points a game for a whole season and 2 points from 5 is pure relegation form.
We needed a win tonight not a poxy point.

Millwall were a top 6 side all of last season, actually being a top 3 for over 3/4 of the season.

They are unbeaten this year

A point isn't what we needed but that said it is a very good result + gives us something to finally kick start our season with

Beat Wycombe and things start to look up going into a winable away game at Carlisle

I see where you're coming from and you've got a point. We need commitment and effort, but we also need the ability. El-Abd has all the commitment in the world, but has very limited effort. I think he can do a decent job at centre back which his strength and his ability to occaisonally to put a good tackle in. But the problem with him is he backs off, and he grabs other people's shirts and he wanders out of position... He's such a liability at times, and he's just not good enough to justify playing him frequently because you KNOW there'll be a mistake before too long.

Well what about Andrew Whing then? You can't start him at right-back, and surely he knows which foot to kick with. I always thought that the full-backs were like shoes, clearly "Right" or "Left".punish:

The problem with us, and we did this last year, is that we all think brilliant away point today (last year Leicester, Peterborough, win at Millwall). Yet we dn't back it up with a result against the sides we should beat at home.

If we had beat Stockport and Walsall, then to me this would be a great result, but we need wins...

EXACTLY

It's the withdean effect though isn't it

I don't really know what you're getting at there, but Whing started at right back because he's bloody good there. He had a bit of a 'mare there last night against Martin, but come on. It happens to the best defenders in the game, so you can excuse Whingy an off night here and there.
