Extremely selective memory you've got there. Dublin, Monaghan, Lifford, Dundalk, Castleblayney as well as countless places in the North.
extremely selective take on my answer, we were discussing british peoples take on republicans, they arent going to care about bombs in the south especially when the british mainland had the shit bombed out of it for so long, there was probably even an element of satisfaction that the irish were getting some of their own medicine.

It looks to me like you are you claiming that there was widespread support in Britain for terrorism - provided it was done against the Irish.

Now that is REALLY offensive.

So when, exactly, did the Republic bomb the UK for us to get a "some of [our] own medicine"?

where did i claim "widespread support" ?

It's the way you use the phrase "british people" and the claim that "they" aren't going to care about bombs in the south.

If you "don't care about bombs", that makes you a supporter of terrorism, does it not?

plenty of PIRA and INLA were/are from the republic, there was/is a sizeable minority of people in the republic who support PIRA/RIRA/CIRA, the canary wharf bombers to name just one of many were from the republic, the british legal system was denied extradition from the republic of escaped terrorist prisoners on the flimsiest of legal grounds, there was widespread collusion between dundalk CID and south armagh PIRA , so please spare me the pretence that the republic was a completely innocent bystander in all of this .

outside of your student union they werent overly concerned , no.
Well that's not my recollection of how things were in the seventies, the eighties or the nineties.

At least you've confirmed my opinion that a key element of your argument (and that of all the bigots who have posted on this thread) is that your claim to speak for "British people" is based on nothing but a self-justifying fantasy.

My recollection is that most people didn't attribute terrorist attacks to "the Irish". They blamed the organisations.
the organisations that flourished both north and south of the border despite the lovely peace loving irish people with no historical anti british chip on their shoulder at all offering no support or succour to them ?

Why would I want to drink coffee in Billy Collison's, when there's The Gardeners Arms just down the street?

you asked for my view of what the british people thought, i gave it to you , hardly claiming to speak for them is it ?
you would go to billy collisons because its the sort of place that sells overpriced organic produce that has been featured in lentil eater monthly or similar publications.
