Just spoken with a Derby fan about Liam Dickinson. His first words were “trouble” Apparently, he was sharing a pad with some other County players (perhaps on tour) and they went out for an evening. He got bladdered, came back before the others and trashed their rooms. Understandably they weren’t best pleased so a fight ensued. He has also had punch ups at the training ground.

Hopefully, this is a case of something going wrong earlier and things getting out of control. Perhaps better management would have helped. Anyhow, hopefully its not the sign of a disruptive influence

According to a Derby supporting mate:

There was a rumour that Dickinson decided to have a party at his apartment, this went on until the early hours and other residents of the block complained to Paul Jewell; who was staying in the same complex.

Jewell had it out with Dickinson who told him to do one.

Obviously may not be true or reflective of his character but the consensus among Derby fans is that he was a handful.

Sounds ideal as a striker! Far better than one who wants to piss-off up north because some tart he's not even married to misses her mummy!

If this is true, I'm sure RS will have had him character checked before investing TB's cash.

As said above, maybe he just needs proper management.

I will reserve judgement personally.

Maybe Derbys fans are bitter that they done their clubs cash on him. :D

OK, he's a professional and needs to be responsible, but lets just remember he is 23 years old. He's going to get up to stuff the manager would rather not know about.

Occupational hazard. Strikers are, taken as a class, sort of edgy, are they not?

Your average baseball relief pitcher -- closers anyways -- is a nutter. Ditto for hockey goalies.

Hmm, I've always thought Paul Jewell is a wrong un.
The scouse accent doesn't help and I've seen him give an interview whilst sweating like a rapist.
