Neither am I, but going to give it a go. An Uncle of a good friend just died of lung cancer at 58. He never got to see the grandchild of his 7 month pregnant daughter.

Good luck BoF. I've tried loads of times and always end up back on the fags.

putting on my sensible head..... I used to smoke but gave up after several attempts about 4 years ago. I read the Allen Carr Easyway to Give Up smoking book. It worked for me and I feel great and I really don't miss the fags

Sorry. Missed your post before, Wideguy. Nice to see that it is possible. I smoked at school, despite it being a suspendable offence (bad ass), but didn't really smoke properly until my gap year. Quite possibly about 10 a day (on average) for the last ten years. (Please don't work out how much that has cost me!).

suggest you dont try cold turkey, instead cut out habital fags one by one: the morning smoke, the one at break/lunch time etc.

I often want to take up smoking properly so I can hang out with the cool kids and take breaks at work but no matter how hard I try I just can't derive any sort of pleasure whatsoever from smoking when sober, in fact I find it revolting, even though I really want to.

How do you guys do it?
