Lowe is a pauper next to Bloom. Also Lowe was not a Saints fan.

What we have is a fan with loads of dosh. It doesn't get any better. And yet still people moan....

There is always an element of risk in accepting any investment.

Saints have been the classic example of how not to do it. They were almost entirely debt based (banks and such like) and it's blown up in their faces. The Bloom money relies on the club being successful in order to pay him back. It is therefore unlikely the club would be run in such a negligent way as it is in neither Bloom or the Albion's interests for the project to fail.

Expectations need to be managed as you can't run before you can walk. Next season should be rebuilding, with play offs seen as a bonus if achieved.

Pork pie land.
New Stadium, wealthy Chairman... Sounds similar to Southampton a few years ago. Will Bloom turn out to be another Lowe?? Only Time will tell

"Rural East Sussex" - if you do go toa amatch does your village miss its idiot?

Why can't some people just be happy that we have got shot of potless Knight, Falmer will actually be built, and we have a Chairman with money and ambition for the Club?

Difference being we are not ex-premiership wannabee's spunking it all down the pisser a la Scumhampton. They tried to buy themselves back into the top flight, failed and bankrupted themselves.

You're either too young or too stupid to remember our last big money saviour, Bill Archer.

Who said that I'm not happy. I think it's great that the Bloom family have continued supporting our Beloved club over decades. I think that you are forgetting what Dick Knight has done for our club and I'm sure that if he had the money that Bloom has, he would have sunk more into the club than he did. Please refer to the views of bhaexpress.
Judging by the nature of your response to the question I asked, might I suggest that you are suffering from PMT.

For fucks sake! Where do you people come from? Archer was never a big money savior, who ever said he was?

Tony Bloom has already put £18m into the Club - more than Archer ever even took out of it!

Get a grip you Knight arse-wipes - no more buckets and silly pieces of paper to sign - happy days!

I think the important difference between Albion and the situation at Southampton, apart from the fact that they have tried to compete with Pompey, is that whilst St Mary's I take it (because I haven't been there) is a purpose-built stadium, Falmer is a dual-purpose job now with educational facilities included.
St Mary's cost £30m I think, Falmer is obviously going top cost nearly double that, partly because of the large amount of landscaping necessary on the site.
I think Albion should try to forget ideas of competing with other clubs locally (like Palace) and just concentrate on building a firm financial footing based on what the Bloom family put in. Palace are a club based in London, Brighton should concentrate on weaning off all the saddo United/Arsenal/Chelsea supporters who can't bear to se a club that can't flaunt a Europe tag.

Actually, if you had a brain you would have the sense to be a bit wary but as you clearly haven't there's not a lot of point in continuing this thread. Just because some people express reservations doesn't mean they are entitled to the low IQ level of abuse of people like you.

Nobody is praising of criticising the various people involved just expressing concern based of the experience of following this team for many years as well as seeing what has happened to other clubs.

I have concerns about the moneymen. Its natural after our experiences to have these. Infact a healthy does of inspection and asking awkward questions will keep the Albion safe in the years to come.

First thing.........Bloom is no Archer.

Secondly, the model of Saints and our business case is so different. Bloom has paid of £18m worth of debts and converted those loans to shares. Those shares are nowhere near worth £18m. So the Albion are actually debt free. Secondly, Bloom is paying for the stadium. Yes they are loans, but unsecured and importantly interest free.

Remember Greg Stanle loaning the club money. Its was the interest and debt penalties that he added that broke the club.

It will be in Blooms interset to ensure that Albion are run properly. He knows that the club might not be able to pay bacl all of the money. Infact I think he has already written it off and will convert it to shares. He might get it back one day if someother rich sod buys them shares. Whatever, its not the same as the club getting a bank loan and then having difficulty paying it back. Thats when Administration and clubs failing happens.

Southampton are a cse in mind. Borrowed money from banks etc. Business case and repayments based on Premierleague income. Well that income has dried up together with drop in support and I bet the failiure of not paying repayments, penatly clauses and compound interest has what really broke Saints. Even getting rid of most of the first team and their wages has not helped much.

So two totally different models.

Big money saviour who invested £56.25.

Hardly the same is it. People comparing this scenario with that of Archer are frankled short of brain cells.

Rupert Lowe is a preening buffoon who loves nothing more than the media spotlight. He was not a Southampton fan or even a football fan beforehand. Can't see any similarities with Bloom.

Hasn't part of the problem for Saints been that their ownership is tied up with retirement homes?

One of two things will now happen.

1) Tony Bloom is the saviour we have been waiting for, we move into Falmer, we get decent players, we move up the leagues. Happy days.

2) We have some good times as we move into Falmer and get decent players to watch, but things go tits-up in the long term.

Either way we have some good times and get put out of our misery, that has been watching the Albion over recent years.

From what Perry has said, without Bloom there would be no Falmer - and as we all know, without Falmer we either resign ourselves to League 2 or Comference football played at Falmer at best, and most likely go out of business as the shareholders money stops propping-up the Club.

So let's all welcome Tony Bloom and support him - and stop f***ing moaning and looking a gift horse in the mouth.

So what is the f***ing point of starting this thread?

I Always thaught we live in a country where one can ask questions without being put up against the wall and shot. I can't see anything offensive in the question and might suggest that owing to the fact that Southampton supporters felt that their future was secured with the new stadium and a wealthy chairman at the helm, that we might be in counting our chickens (we keep them in Rural East Sussex you know) before they hatch. I posted the question to get the views of other NSC users. As I have indicated before I am more than pleased that Bloom has put his money where his mouth is and like your good self look forward to the building of a football club that can take us into the championship and may be even further. Who knows what the future holds
