Does anyone else have this? Otherwise known as background mind music, or BBM.

Whoever is in charge of the music station of my inner thoughts is a complete idiot, whenever there's a moments' silence I generally get one of the following tunes;

Spice Girls - Any of their big hits.
Take That - Back For Good or Relight My Fire.
East 17 - Stay.
Cher - If I Could Turn Back Time (complete with disgusting video being played in my BRAIN).

I never EVER get a song I like randomly come into my brainbox. It's always the same 7-8 terrible tunes.

Today's 'mind worm' has been the opening phrase of 'Monkey Man' by The Specials... i think it is on a ska advert at the moment. It's Ok really... many have been terrible... I just have to be careful not to join in out loud

I often wake up in the morning with a random song in my mind and I'm humming along inside my head. The song is usually from the play list you describe and, as I refuse to listen to those songs and don't listen to any radio station that would play them, where the feck do they come from?:flameboun

You're very lucky.

If someone said to me "think of a song RIGHT NOW" it would never be one I like.

I currently have "You Know My Name" pulsing through my cranial void. Its the theme tune to Casino Royale, and I quite like it. An irritating side-effect (for people around me) is that I keep murmouring the dramatic open bars to the theme, which go

deh DEH deh DEH
deh DEH deh DEHHHH

Added to this, I have visual images from the intro floating through my mind. Like this.

with cards flying around, and stuff.

Again, far better than anything I get in my head. No fair. Yeah that intro stuck in my head. Quite good.

That's ever so spooky as this same song is also a near permanent fixture in my mind despite me not owning a copy of the song or ever listening to it other than when watching the film. What could it all mean?

I'm really not sure. Its like a subconcious omnipresence, never far from the front of my mind. I've even YouTubed the intro a couple of times just so I can watch and listen to the start.

It is a CRACKING intro. Thank christ I'm not afflicted with the Quantom of Solace song, cos that really is a rancid pile of sputum.

I've just looked it up on Spotify to have a little sing along.

I can't even remember the QoS tune, who sung it?
