I'm delighted to inform you that, courtesy of the infallible BBC Predictor, we will survive on the final day of the season by beating Stockport amid tumultuous scenes at Withdean. Russell Slade will be carried shoulder high around the ground and receive a free lifetime's supply of head polish (it didn't tell me the last bit - I'm just guessing).

Seriously though, I was pretty sensible about the scores and that was achieved with three wins and two draws. Even three wins and one draw would have been enough. If we can keep it alive to the final day, then the other sttugglers' fixtures are a lot trickier than ours so that has to be the objective. Shouldn't give up hope just yet..... possible at 4.45, but not JUST yet.

Right, I'm off to take my medication and hit the road to Colchester

I think I can see the possible flaw in this. WE NEED TO WIN 3 GAMES :bigwave:

hahaha love it

2 draws looks totally beyond us , let alone 1 win . 3 wins with this team is impossible I'm afraid

The problem is we could win them all and still go down.

Very true. I don't agree that three wins is impossible though.. I think any team can put a run together like that if they have the belief and are all fully committed to the cause.

Whether that's true of this team is possibly the biggest question..

Six points from Hereford, Swindon and Colchester would have been acceptable last week. We've got to win today.

I think we all agreed that Saturday was a must win game.
How this team is suddenly going to catch fire and take a minimum of 13 points from 5 games is quite beyond me !
The bad habits acquired all season...i.e conceding goals in the few minutes either side of half-time and towards the end of games is suddenly going to stop ? The defensive cock-ups are all going to disappear and our strikers are suddenly going to go on a scoring spree, supplied by our impressive midfield.
Yes, we have 5 mid-table sides to play but no-one is kidding me that they will rollover a la Yeovil and Hereford.
It has painfully dawned on me in recent weeks that we are one of the three worst sides in this division. Before then, I was kidding myself. I kept going through our side man for man and making out a case for us underperforming.
No more...reality has set in...no more hoping for minor miracles.
We have gone from a decent side yo-yoing between Championship and Div.1 to a ' confidence lacking shambles ' that is limping weakly into the basement division.
The saddest thing is that none of the remaining games bother me anymore. I feel, that after witnessing home defeat after home defeat, I've had all the stuffing taken out of me. Game after game chucked away by schoolboy errors ( and thats harsh on schoolboys ! )..mistakes in the boardroom, mistakes every week by management and players.
There's only so much you can take and I've now had my gutful...I'll spend the summer trying not to think about BHA and when the fixtures come out, I'll see if the fire is back in the belly.
Got a funny feeling its going to take longer to get the enthusiasm back this time.

I stopped reading when I got to the we beat Stockport line.

We are going down. Yes I will still hold some hint of belief until it is mathematically impossible to stay up, but though she is not yet singing, the fat lady has finished her warm up and is walking out on stage ready to start her rendition of

You're going down, we're not. we're not

The BBC is neutral, and NEVER EVER lies.

Our 54 points EASILY keeps us up.Oh,and it answers that Swindon supporters qn about which ground we most want to visit.........or at least it eliminates their place!

Didnt Fulham have to win their last 4 games to stay up and they did it so why cant we.

I admire your blind , totally unfounded, youthful optimism I really do. Good for you.

Because we're complete and utter rubbish this season and deserve to be relegated.

In 1980/81, Brighton followed an abject run of two wins out of 15 matches by winning their last four games to get out of jail on the last day of the season.

OK, that's no guide for what's going to happen this season, but shows it is possible.
