I was being sarcastic about Ken "the ghost" Brown earlier. But has anyone ever actually heard or seen our MD? Serious question!

insider once told me (ask the club) that KB was doing a great job, and KB once had a quote in the Argus, so he must exist.

It is strange that he is hardly heard of. However, whether it is him or someone else, someone from the club should explain what plan they have to sell 8K tickets for games next season (I will resist the urge to repeat my ideas again!)

come on folks we must have some more ideas for Harty as well? Harty called for ideas on the phone in after the hereford game, and so it seems to be on his radar after his comments today

here's one for starters:

non playing players to spend time in kids section on match days signing autographs, posing for pictures, etc - not sitting in The Sportsman stuffing their faces!

yep fair point, all the staff should have focus on it, and it will do them good to take responsibility for selling - make them understand why they have a job playing football in the first place

Well that is not on. Wite again and copy it to harty, and if Harty is reading this and he does get him on the show, then DK needs to be asked why he cant sell 8K tickets to 1.5 Million people in sussex, and what plans does he have to rectify the problem.

I suggest dividing up the sussex area, and having sales staff responsible for an area on a weekly bonus for when they reach their target. I also would like the schools link up rolled out to a 100 plus schools plus, so the club has a future.

Any other ideas for Harty?

It's all very well linking up to schools but you still need adults to take them on a Saturday. Having run and organised trips myself via the Albion the most difficult part was getting adequate adult supervision required for the numbers, not every teacher wants to spend one of their days off with other people's kids when they could be enjoying themselves with their own friends and family. There are schemes in place for cheap tickets via schools and have been for a few years now and contrary to what the sages on here think they are reasonably well advertised within local schools. However, kids cannot go on their own which as mentioned above the biggest problem is getting adults to accompany them.

As I said above when the stadium is built it will provide a greater attraction for local kids who get most of their football from watching TV and want to be in the modern stadiums as seen on Match of the Day, a crappy athletics track and scaffolding for seats cannot replicate that.

Maybe IF Knight had kept tabs on Adam's career since he left us he would have know Adams was a joke who was hated by the Leicester and Coventry fans because of the crap football - and on BIG budgets at Leicester!
Look at the facts< you know jack shit about the adams situation. Mickey was brought back under false pretence, money that wasnt given. The coventry thing was the same shit as the albion the board taking control. If you werent aware Mickey wasnt saked from Cov he left!!

Harty knows what is going on behind the scences at the club. Its Knight and his mates club.Think Hinsh, white, booker, bragg, hicks and co and watch Keehen come back to the club soon

Mickey Adams again wasnt allowed to do his job. He was told there were funds available, umm lie Mr Knight.
When the going gets tough the Albion fans moan like f@@k. Its about time you all got behind the team and to hear your voices cheering the Albion on not moaning like a bunch of tossers.
Given time which was the theme for Mr Adams, and desire from a group of albion backstabbers ie Mr Forster !!!!
Look beyond your noses - guess you dont have your own business?
Short sighted Albion fans -
Good luck Mr Adams and all the best. Maybe you can join Crawley and by-pass Brighton.

I've never known a season where so many players were signed by the Albion so I dont think Adams could complain about a lack of money, His problem was he did'nt know how to spend it.

The agents fees are going to be interesting next season.

Well, I once had this great list of ideas that many on here and beyond supported. My mistake was to write them down and post a letter to Ken Brown. That cost me 39p + the envelope, without factoring in my time (minimum wage & 1.5hrs). I didn't believe others who'd done likewise until I received the following reply from our MD: :tumble:

I can vouch for that. He did, indeed, send a list of very goot suggestions that were totally disregarded. Portlock doesn't come up with many, but when he does, they're usually crackers ;)

Can't see another team that's doing OK and making progress having a board dumb enough to make the same mistake as we did this season.

The best way to promote the club, alongside the schemes to bring in the next generation of fans, is to have a successful team on the pitch.

Thanks for the appreciation. Its an obvious point I know but what kid in the park is going to give up their Chelsea shirt for ours. Kids buy into success, they don't want to be associated with a joke.
