Not knowing much about Slade, I'd go for Pardew. A bit expensive I would have thought, but at least he's managed at a good level.

We don't need a manager who has managed at a good level. We need someone who has done a good job at THIS level. We need results now and Slade has a recent track record of getting them in this division. So Slade for me.

I also certainly wouldn't want Pardew as a manager were we a Championship club.

Presented Pardew with a £10k cheque at Reading FC once ( Cutting from Daily Mirror available on request ) and he had a lot more personality than Madejski

we need someone who can get us out of this almighty mess we've got ourselves into.

slade has a record of doing this kinda thing, scrapping around relegation and getting teams out of trouble at this level. Pardew has just been at Charlton in a scrap for survival and was an epic failure.

i'd go slade for this season, then re-assess the situation in the summer.
