As the title says, is he fit for the job?

Knowing as I did that Adams was leaving last week, it's funny to listen to Dicks Interview (BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | B | Brighton | Brighton part company with Adams) . Listen to the interview, Harty backs him in a corner.

He told us that Wilkins and Chapman were offered jobs at the club, when they weren't. This man no longer appears to speak the total truth, and as people find out, if you lie enough, soon enough it'll catch up with you.

From his own mouth, he says he had a meeting on Friday to discuss the weekends game and ended up "sacking"(call it what you will) him. Sacks the man who a few hours earlier told everyone he would not quit, as it would send the wrong signals to the players. So one of them wasn't telling the truth.

Bearing in mind the title thread, is a chairman who it would appear sacks a manager in a meeting that wasn't about the managers future, being fit for the job?

Talk about acting on impulse.

Or has Dick egos finally caught up with him, and is he struggling to cover over his tracks?

I actually think alot of people are really hard on Dick Knight, considering what he has done for this football club. He made a mistake in changing the management set up in the summer when he didn't need to, but he did that with the best intentions and Falmer is actually under way now, we've had investment in the squad aswell. I see no logical reasons to claim Dick isn't fit for the job anymore. I don't know what goes on day to day in the running of club, no doubt someone has an inside source who can shed some light on that, but in general, I don't understand why people don't seem to like him.

I'm listening to this for the first time:

So far DK has said a couple of times that they both came to the conclusion that it was in the best interest of the club for MA to stand down. Doesn't that mean they both agreed the best interest of the club was for Micky to quit? So, why is it mutual consent. If Micky decided it was best if he quit, and DK decided it was best if Micky quit, why mutual consent, why not "micky quit"?

Dean White and Bob Booker "courageously" stepped forward? Courageously?

"My manager"? His manager?

I'll make it clearer for the simple ones.

If a chairman speak to a manager about game (as they do before every game),
and then sacks manager in same meeting
should chairman be in job if he sacks manager on impuse.

Or is chairman not being totally open..... again

As I have been saying for some time now, he is past his sell by date, is out of touch, and sadly therefore its time to move to the presidents role. Wait for "but no one else wants it, look what he has done for the club etc etc". All good leaders don't cling on to power when their time is up. Bad ones sometimes do.

Seems to me that like every board/chairman, mistakes have been made. But board has best intentions and have secured Falmer against dogged and underhand opponents. Club statement seemed fine to me. I don't see why either DK or MA would want lots of details published, they are both honourable men and must be gutted that things haven't worked out better this season.

Those who moan about the board mostly have short memories and continually overlook the fact that they (the board) have bankrolled the club through some terrible times and will never get their money back. Can't see how anyone with half a brain can think they're doing it for any reason other than love of the club.

You are blinded by a love of believing everything is true in the world of BHAFC.

To sack a manager at 10:30 (well that was when the news was announced) is truely bizarre

I just wish people would stop slagging Dick off, it seems no matter what he does, half of you moan. If he does the opposite, the other half winge.

I wonder how many of the wingers have ever been in a role where you have to make decisions, and also know that someone will winge no matter what!

I accept everyone is entitled to a view and I have mine, but continuous slagging doesnt help anyone.

What are you on about?

The strange fact the DK goes to a meeting with not intention of sacking the manager then at the end it is mutually agreed he goes.

Then the first time it is announced is about 10:30 AM on a Saturday match day.
