Carlisle manager Greg Abbott said...

Got something to say or just want fewer pesky ads? Join us... 😊

....in an interview for Radio Cumbria

..." We know a fair bit about Brighton anyway, but Joe has given us a couple of indicators of what they are like. What he has said is that they have not had terrific performances at home and that the crowd do get onto them and on their backs if they don't start well.

" So what we want to try to do is get off to a really good start in the game and put them on the back-foot. Then hopefully the crowd will give them a little bit of stick and put them under a bit of extra pressure. So we will be looking to start the game very well tomorrow. "

Using the Withdean faithful against their own team!!!

Sneaky bastards.

Great, now every football manager in every League knows how utter shyte we are at home.

Then it's about time some of our players grew up and became men. They are in a profession where they are paid to perform infront of a paying crowd. If they are going to cave in and hide at a few moans & groans then maybe they best play in the County league or find another job.

Let's see some professional pride and backbone, from the players & the management.

I love this argument, don't get on the players backs and we will win games. So it is the fans fault we are where we are?

I remember last season at home to Millwall, we were leading 1-0 at half time. The Millwall players approached the dressing room to the worst fans verbal attack I have ever heard from visiting fans. Millwall were terrible in that half and the fans really let them know their feelings.
Second half Millwall players respond and play us off the park, result 1-2 Millwall.
Don't tell me that letting players know how you feel about their performance always has an adverse effect. Millwall certainly responded.

I would respond to your Millwall comment but I could swear we beat them 3-0 at home last season?! :p

Blaming the crowd is silly really. In an ideal world we'd all support the team for 90 mins and constantly encourage rather than criticise, but we're no more guilty than most supporters would be when you consider the dross we've seen at Withers this season.

You are correct sir, the match I refer to was season 2005/2006. Just shows how seasons fly by when you are enjoying them :lol:

Brighton (home) fans are probably the worst in the country. A lot of us should be ashamed of ourselves and if the Carlisle manager can see it why can't a lot of the people on here. That said, we have been served a hell of a lot of tactictally inept, woeful and dull games in the last couple of years (including a hell of a lot under Wilkins for those with short memories). As the man said, vicious circle but bottom line is we don't help the situation and, as fans, helping the team to improve is exactly what we should be doing. As a frustrated season ticket holder however I'm just as guilty as the next man.

This is a top post Danson and like you say, we are all as guilty as each other to be honest with you. I sing my heart out at away games and more often than not come back not being able to speak for a good few days. I would love to be able to get up at Withdean and sing and shout but a) you get looked at funny by most of the so called fans there and b) you get stewards telling you to sit down! Basic songs like Al-bi-on, albion, albion - I havent heard that sung at Withdean for so long now. The best we can come up with nowadays is a half hearted "Seagulls" chant. Not good is it? Futhermore, when we do get to Falmer one imagines that the so called home fans will have settled into just sitting there and not contributing they will have forgotten how to create an atmosphere!

OR how about the wankers that get on the teams back take note that not only does booing the team make them play worse but it also helps the opposition.

Booing the team is such a great idea. :wozza: :tosser:

Thats not directed at you glasfyn as I have no idea whether you get on the teams back or not.

No let's see the continuous shit that is served up week on week and all go home smiling and happy because we have seen our team lose again.

When will the fans who support Adams take their f***ing rose tinted spectacles off and realise that he is not God and is not doing a good job at the Albion anymore?
