Leg out of the bed
My first car was a '63 Mk.1 two door, with a Mk.2 1600GT lump in it and it went like the proverbial shit off a shovel

Cruising round town on Friday and Saturday night collecting 'producers' from the law and having burn ups with like minded boy racers

Now if I can find a shell to shoehorn a 302c.i. into, I might have to start my third childhood

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..

Never owned a Cortina.

My first car was one of these (you could drive them on a motorcycle licence).

Note this model is equiped with "spots" for late-night "off-road" rally stages!! :lolol:

A much loved Mk3 1600 L on a K plate, think it had the 4 headlights.
Was an auto but the box had gone, luckily a Capri GXL or sport crashed on the telscombe tye, so went up one night and had the g'box, prop and pedal box out of it - nice little short lever jobbie too thank you very much.

Also had a Mk5 2.0 GL Auto in beige. Crashed it coming coming out of a secondary road into a primary without looking, and a BT van T-boned me.. sure if i'd been in a less robust motor, think i'd have been a gonna..

I had a Capri Sport that I crashed on the Telscombe Tye.

While I was in hospital some bastard robbed the engine and gearbox out of it.

Right here, right now
My first car was a 1973 MkIII 2000GXL in metallic brown with a black vinyl roof (just like the one in Life on Mars) with gold wheels, silver edge trims and red brake drums! Then I got an 'S' reg MkIV 1600GL Auto followed by an 'X' reg 1600 Ghia Auto. The MkIII was the best of the lot but some plank driving the wrong way up a one way street wrote it off.

In a pile of football shirts
Hand painted black 1600E with grey fluffy seat covers and a 1300 rear axel, went like shit off a shovel.
