Just thought I would relay back my meeting with the great man on saturday @Panacea nightclub, the norths version of a members only club, think, chinawhites but with more page 3 trash and, I kid you not, bangers and mash on the menu.

I remember reading an interview with Savage saying that he didnt speak to the wife the night after a defeat, this didnt seem to be in evidence on saturday in fact he was positively beaming. His first words to me when I told him I was an albion fan were "what the fook are you doing up 'ere" .. it took him a while to realise I went to the match:eek:

I asked what the hell happened in the leeds game, his response, "It's not maaa fault YOUR defence is shit!!" - at least he's honest I suppose. My comment that Colin Hawkins is a carthorse raised a wry smile as well.

All in all, a fairly nice bloke, clearly has no affinity with the club, felt a bit sorry for him as it seems he gets quite a lot of random abuse from the general public, but judging by saturdays performance from him, Im not sure he'll be in the public eye much longer, I think his legs have gone; wouldn't be suprised if this is his last season in the professional game.

Interesting - I have heard that he has simply lost the fight - and if you take that away from his game - well there is not very much left. He was anonymous on Saturday - apart from about 5 minutes when he had been a stand-off with their No.8. Which highlighted what was missing the rest of the time.

I have seen some crap on here in my life but this drivel goes straight to number 1.

The only place you were on Saturday night was at home with you mum eating your usual special Satdee night X factor tea!!!

To be honest dwayne, I appreciate your post. These sort of experiences are exactly why it's worth coming onto this site. Just ignore the jealous clowns amongst us.

Savage's attitude doesn't surprise me, BTW. He's a has-been who probably still quite likes playing the game. You do have to ask why Adams signed him though.

The sooner Adams works out that Savage isn't worth his place the quicker we'll start to recover. When you look at the contributions against Leeds from Racon and Savage there is no similarity at all. Either Savage gets fit and earns his place or we will continue to struggle.

...and talking of has been footballers - the legend, that is, Xavier was at the nightclub on saturday (and getting a lot more attention from the layyydees than Savage)

I think he's without a club - could do a job? - couldn't be any worse than Hawkins.

I thought Xavier was at Los Angeles Galaxy?

great posting from the la galaxy forum...

What happened with Xavier?
Posted by dj on July 22, 2008

It sounds like Abel Xavier will no longer be with the Galaxy. It seems the recent news of the addition of Dominguez has started something in LA. Was Xavier forced out of LA by coach Gullit? Xavier said about Gullit “He used language that was not normal and he was very arrogant.” and that “He was a great player but he is not a great coach. I demand respect.”

Coach Gullit claims that Xavier was a bad apple. From the feeling that I get from reading around the blogosphere it should be a welcome change to most Galaxy fans.

What do you think? Will replacing Xavier with Dominguez be a good move for the Galaxy?

Some of us have lives and hardly ever post at the weekend. You do seem a sad and bitter old man to be honest.
