I know this will get a lot of stick, but I was thinking this afternoon, I don't like Forster as captain - He dives, he cheats, he moans and whinges constantly even if he was in the wrong. I don't think he's a very good example.

He's a born winner. The moaning and whinging are good cruedntials for a captain, and too some extent, so is cheating if it means you win. All players 'cheat' at some point in their careers, if Forster dives around, wins us penaltys and free-kicks that we dont desvere I don't care.

Of course, and it's naive to think players don't cheat or dive occasionally, but he does it so much, too much.

Great shout. He's a bit of a knob really, moans at everyone when it's his fault.

FANTASTIC seeing Savage bollocking Michel today - don't think i've ever seen anyone have the guts to do that. A proper leader.

captain should be a defender or midfielder so either Elphick but too early for him really, or Thomson had it against Man City and was quality let Forster concentrate on his job of scoring goals

Most experienced, talented and forceful player in the side. Obvious choice, surely.

Agree with that to some extent. though I don't think you can give somebody the captaincy for a month.

Something has got to happen to turn this side into a team with balls and a **** like Savage has the credentials.

He does, and does it a lot.

I do agree about Savage, but he is only here for a month. But then why not, we've only got his services for a month so why not captain as well.

A character like Savage will do exactly what he would do with an armband on, as he would without it. The fact we've managed to bring him here is a massive plus.

Concur. Forster was a great captain last year and will continue to be so this year.

Think the captain should be the most influential person on the pitch for us, regardless of position, think the stereotype of it usually being a defender or a midfielder is because they are usually keen to scream at people / organize the defense etc
