I liked carole when he was here - but why have leeds let him go ? it may be down to finances but he may not be the player he was. Last season people were saying get Danny Cullip back - look at where he is now.

But if carole is the same player as 3 years ago get him back.

He is only 26 I think. Played a fair bit last season, but I don't think he is a McAllister type player and they have quite a few midfielders.

Thinking about it, we do not have many players that excite, do we? We do need someone to get the heart racing.

We do need more flair and a striker of course. Let's hope one of the loan signings (we need at least two, maybe three) is Ifill but I doubt we'll be able to afford his wages. I also doubt we'll sign Carole again. For one thing, with one or two exceptions, Dick Knight doesn't like to sanction the re-signing of players who have left us for other clubs. Further, Adam's analysis about being "out muscled" on Saturday suggests that he may think we need more physical presence in midlfield so don't be surprised if we sign someone who'll get stuck in and if they can pass, so much the better. A Paul Rogers or Dean Hammond type is what we need whilst El Abd is out injured. God how we've missed him in that defensive midfield position. ( One of Wilkins' best tactical decisions). What concerns me is until very recently, Adams seemed happy with his squad when it's been obvious that we're deficient in a few key areas. Still early days and there's plenty of time for him to fix it.
