Who is this old man harris?

That's the way I interpretted it. Surely you can understand the frustration. Yes, I was having a go at the club. Insider is fantastic, yes, but I took from his comments that it was all decided and done...I am annoyed that it hasn't been released yet. He said it was coming this weekend, I am annoyed it hasn't been.

Aha! Loving how you jump to such conclusions without even knowing me.

I don't have the text service, can't afford it.

So it's wrong to get really excited by goings on at the club?

To be honest I think its the oposite. I wish people would get more excited...then the atmosphere might get better.

I am passionate and caring about the club, is that so wrong? How many 16 year olds support brighton for a start!

I think its a very sorry state when you start having a go at kids for getting excited about their club.

Good post lad.Keep it up.

Shame Paul has to pick on youngsters.Must make him feel manly or something.

I disagree. If you post rubbish like he did, you leave yourself open to a response whatever your age. He sounded like a spolit brat in that first post and whether he is excited about it or not is irrelevant. It may not have crossed his mind, but if it is a transfer, we may still be confirming it.

Then you misunderstood his comments.

if it was all decided and done as you interpreted then it would have been released. What possible reason is there for no announcement yet except that it WASN'T decided and done?

That said, Insider might have been best advised to keep schtum until it was decided and done but that indicates (a) that he is trying to do his best to keep us informed and (b) the pressure that he is put under by having the Ask the Club forum anyway.

Chill out ladies, the words molehill and mountain spring to mind. A massive over-reaction from the lad about the news but gve him a break, I remember what it was like as a kid to be excited about stuff like this. That'll soon be suck out of him, when he realises he's got all excited and the news turns out to be a new member of backroom staff or better forks in the northstand.

I think you interpretted what he said wrong.

"Yes, we have some other "breaking news" which so we will launch both good news stories together this weekend."

Present tense, i.e, it's happened just now, no future and no future conditional.

Yet again, future tense but not future conditional.

Sounds to me like it's a definite.

I want no handouts just because of my age, if I'm old enough to post here then I'm old enough to take it, just perhaps think about the fact that this club is trying to be friendlier to the younger generation and ANY fan, no matter what age, has the right to get excited over good news for a club who hasn't had what I wpould call it's fair share.

And I bet you're disappointed when it's announced, that's life supporting the Albion. :bigwave:

Probably :(, but it's better to get really excited for a while then be a constant cynic who doubts it'll happen and think they'll be rubbish - how is that fun?

These people that sit there and say ' believe it when I see it' or ' it'll just be some non league player who will make 2 sub appearances then dissappear' etc etc

Okay, it might be true, but what's the point! Dare to dream, how corny.

I don't think anyone has a go at you for showing enthusiasm. However, to turn it into slamming the club when you have no idea why the announcement may not have been made is wrong. I get fed up with people coming on here and having a go at the club for no reason.

I beg to differ, because it's mere enthusiasm which has fueled this.

I am having a go at the club, because it seems to me (as I say) that they know information and are holding it back, if it's yet to be confirmed or whatever then fair play, I'd much rather wait so as not to jeopardise the signing, but the way it was worded leads me to believe it's a done deal.

Not read all the posts, but do you think it may be a case of a transfer, where the fee and personal terms have been agreed and it is simply a matter of getting the player down to sign? Though if that is the case you thought they would have learned their lesson after Currie.

They have not announced it yet for a reason. I doubt they are sitting at the clubs offices saying "lets delay the announcement for a few days to annoy SeagullEd". The club know what is best and will make the announcement when they are ready or it is confirmed.

What in "the way in which it was worded" made you think it was anything to do with a signing?

Sadly SeagullEd is a product of the 'must have' younger generation of today. Its not his fault, its the way this country has been developing and the reason we have a massive capital debt per person.

As he grows up a bit he will realise much of the joy of receiving things is in the expectation. Often the reality (sometimes with the Albion) is never quite as good.
