You steward H block. Without doubt the most contentious and confrontational stewarding at Withers. As such, you need to be ever vigilant for 14 year old Charlton fans wearing scarves, other stewards to high five and that blight on the modern game - people who choose to stand.

So either you're watching the crowd and you get paid for it or you join the rest of us paying public and sit in the stands and watch the game. Shame on you.

When i steward J block (for a start you can't even get the right block) i do my job as asked to by my superiors. The high five i am TOTALLY against as i was that steward interfering when he had no reason to. People who choose stand are breaking the ground regs and the club has to be seen to be doing something about it. That is the safety officers call not the stewards.

It was all on cctv which would have been viewed by the safety team. Their choice to act on it.

But judging by your comments and opinions on an awful lot of the playing side, you must be watch a lot of the football, whilst being employed to steward at Withdean.

You don't have to justify yourself to people on here. Nothing much happens in the stands anyway, everybody stays seated apart from the standing section down the end. As long as an eye is kept on the crowd, what's the harm in watching some of the game if you can.
