Hi everybody,

I'm trying to raise some money for The Disabilities Trust by doing a sponsored 10,000 ft skydive!

I've never done anything like this before and not particularly fond of heights but thought Id give it a go for a good cause. It takes place at Headcorn Parachute Club in Kent on Saturday 23rd August (day after Southend away)

I've raised a bit from family, friends and work colleagues but yesterday I set up an online fundraising page at Justgiving - David Brooks's Fundraising Page

If anyone at all would be so kind to visit the site and donate anything, however small or large I will be eternally grateful

So many causes, so little cash

Right here goes NSC'ers!!

I'm going to donate 50p for EVERY pre-season goal that we score!

Backdated, so that's 8 goals so far = £4 with 8 games to go

Anybody wanna join in with the fun?

do you get a free skydive out of it?

I skydived in new zealand couple months ago...15,000 feet- there is no feeling like it. Not as scary as bungy though!

they say if you raise £400 you get the skydive for free. £200 is payable to the parachute club and then the other £200 goes to The Disabilities Trust.

I felt getting people to fund the jump is a bit wrong so I'm putting £200 towards it (which will pay for the skydive) so anything donated by other people will go direct to The Disabilities Trust

very dangerous and risky.... rather you than me.

Carol Barnes's daughter died doing one in Oz...... they said it was a "Tragic Accident" but, why jump out of a perfectly good, working aeroplane ?

I did one from Airlie Beach in Oz a few years ago - 8.000ft over the Whitsunday Islands - amazing views and a fantastic experience!!

spent a week in airlie beach and sailing round the whitsundays. that place is one of the best on EARTH. Was at Beaches backpackers and got my sack down to mamma africas on more than one occasion. The lagoon is a beast aswell no matter how dirty they say it is!

Thats very sad. There is obviously an element of risk but imo the experience is worth the risk. Given the chance I'd do it again in a heart beat

With that attitude you might as well never leave the house. Accidents happen all the time in, in your car or just walking down the street. Sure there is an element of risk but it's minimal an in return you'll get one of the best experiences you can imagine. It's frickin awesome.
