Micky Adams today told Albion fans he hopes to make further additions to the playing squad, and that he is close to appointing another member to his backroom staff.
He told seagulls.co.uk, "Everybody is aware that we are short a left-back - but we do have the versatility of David Livermore, who can do that job, so it's not a big thing we have to worry about. Having said that we do have a couple of irons in the fire."
Adams hopes to name a new member of coaching staff ahead of Monday's trip to Ireland, who will work alongside him and assistant manager Dean White.
"I don't think it will come as a surprise to many people. I want somebody to work particularly with the youth and reserve teams and bring them up to standard.
"I am very happy at the moment with Dean White as my assistant manager. We will be adding a coach to the football club staff in the very near future, hopefully by Monday."
Albion's pre-season friendly against Burgess Hill will now kick-off at the earlier time of 7.15pm.
