Ah! Those pictures of the Aveiro stadium.

I, too, was there for the Holland v Czech Republic match - one of the best games of football I have ever seen live. The stadium was hilarious and trying to describe it (it was like it had been designed in a Dulux / Toys 'R' Us collaboration), is pretty hard if you hadn't been.

Good site. Look forward to reading more.

The Ultras in Croatia post was a good read:thumbsup:

Good site - like some of the links too.

Did three Dutch games in three nights back in January.
Tues - AZ Alkmaar vs NAC Breda
Weds - Ajax Amsterdam vs FC Utrecht
Thurs - Feyenoord vs Twente Enschede

Lovely!

Burgess Hill!
Very interesting read! Wonder if it would be quite as easy to get on the pitch in England? Your mission may fail there!

Dream ticket mate! I've been to Ajax and Feyenoord but never to AZ. From my experience, there is invariably a threat of violence at Dutch games. Always easily avoided though.

Never really felt threatened in Holland before games, I guess if you went to Ajax/Feyenoord then you need to be very wary.

Managed to blag two tickets in AZ's exclusive Kees Kist Lounge (Kees Kist - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) and was sitting a few seats down from Mark Hughes who was there on a spying mission. Comfy leather chairs, hot meals, dedicated bars - that's how to watch Continental footie!

Don't know how we'll manage to top three games in three days next year though!!!!
Might try the two northern teams, Groningen and Heerenveen.

We went to Rot-Weiss Oberhausen v SV Babelsburg 03 in Germany and then VVV Venlo v Sparta Rotterdam in Holland on the same day. So in theory you could do four games in three days!

Yeah, read your report on that trip on here.
Maybe a German game, Belgian game and Dutch game.
Three games in three days in three COUNTRIES.
Oh yes!

FROM THE GUARDIAN WEBSITE:

For the chap who said this weeks pod was too formal, here is what Gary Lineker said on the BBC website:

"It's open, but I'm going for those perennial underachievers Spain."
Euro 2008 one to watch: Cristiano Ronaldo.

Whilst I'm on European Football Weekends is a good read don't you think!? I believe the chap is going to Romania v France on Monday. Read all about it next week.

:)BUSTED!!!!

Excellent Stuff. Hopefully planning a few trips next season too.
Fenerbache on the list and also hopefully try and get to German, can't wait til the fixtures come out to start planning.

Half Man Half Biscuit - I came across a post of yours on another forum
(I'm not stalking you honest - it was an accident!)
It was a thread about the leaking of the Dutch fixtures.
Me and some mates are hoping to get three Eredivisie weekends in this season, so good to check the fixtures out early!
On that thread you mention going to see a game - how do you get your tickets for Eredivisie games sorted out?
The clubs there require a clubcard don't they - makes getting tickets beforehand tricky (and expensive) sometimes.

Cheersio!
