Poll to follow....

Dick Knight was quoted in the Argus as saying that MA will be given a healthy budget this summer to spend on players. He didn't want to disclose any figures so how much does everyone think MA will be given, on the basis of what DK has said?

We can only speculate what the budget will be...NSC is an expert in that department...however, having spent £300k on Grant Murray I am guessing that there are funds available to further strengthen the squad, I would say anything between 500k and 1M would have to be regarded as pretty healthy.

An average sort of budget for this division I suppose.

I expect a few players in on frees and a few good signings. Though who ever we get, I hope we get them soon, rather then 2 days before the season starts.

An expression used to totally avoid the question of what the budget is.

To be honest I don't care what it is, as long as it means we are in with a shout of signing our transfer targets. i.e. if a player has to choose between signing for the Albion or for, say, Swindon, I want that decision to go our way.

My understanding was that playing budget is transfer fees + salaries.

As a guess (and it is a guess) last season's budget was in the region of £3 million. Any better estimates?

If the total wage bill was about £3.6 million in 2006/07 and that included non-playing staff, my guess would be that the playing budget is somewhat under £3 million.

But if someone wants to chuck some cash at the transfer budget, this could increase that figure.

Throw in transfer fees and it might be somewhere in the £2-£3 million region, I guess.
