Yeah, I'd go with that, apart from 'petulant' rather than 'arrogant'. But that's splitting hairs. Put it this way, I have no problem with a player who is confident of their abilities.

I think he is quite arrogant after seeing him out and about Haywards Heath.

However Im not sure thats a bad thing

On the other hand, you could say he's scored twice recently and his confidence will be high. I think he's worthy of a start. If he doesn't perform, you can always take him off.

On the second point, you've got me slightly wrong. I actually don't mind talented players with egos. My main example is that, despite acknowledging he's a complete and utter dickhead, I actually like Leon Knight and really enjoyed him playing for us. My problem with Cox is that, to me, he doesn't have that sort of talent, and his performances have been dire for over a year now. It's when you combine that with the ego that I have a problem. Quality and ego = fine in my book. Average and committed = also fine. Poor performances and ego = get rid.

If this was the case then Michel would have been long gone .....

As has been pointed, when Cox throws his toy's out the pram the only person that suffers is him, whilst this is the case it isn't a problem.

The fact that you seem to think the LK's behaviour was acceptable shows that you have a lot to learn on organisational dynamics. LK was poison and we as a club suffered for it. Cox is a petulant little sod but he isn't nasty, LK was nasty.

Cox just needs to realise that yes he's a professional footballer but also that he's got one hell of a way to go before he becomes the finished article or capable of playing at a higher level. Hope for his sake (and ours) that he's got someone close to him who can guide him in the right direction and keep his career on track.

I don't doubt you're absolutely right. I didn't say Leon Knight was "acceptable." As I've already said on this thread, he's a complete and utter moron, and was undoubtedly a nightmare in terms of team spirit. All I was saying is that at least he produced on the pitch as well. Of course I'd prefer players who are model professionals AND quality on a Saturday afternoon, but we're in league one and not overflowing with those types. In my opinion (if that's still allowed with TLO on the thread), Cox offers the club neither good performances or a proper attitude, and that's why I've got an issue with him. Leon Knight did offer the club one, and for that alone I don't castigate him quite as much as others.

For flying fucketty f*** f***ing sake. Of course you're f***ing well allowed an opinion. Jesus bloody wept. :thud:

I'm just querying why you have repeat it ad nauseum - a la Gareth Glover.

Oh, and Cox does offer good performances.

You're right although I'm struggling to remember his last one. Not a 10 or 20 minute cameo, a real influential performance that fans expect of an attacking midfielder.

I'm repeating it no more than you're repeating yours. I don't mind you telling me I'm wrong every time either, just don't pass yours off as FACT. I don't think we're going to agree on this one. Cox is CAPABLE of good performances, that I don't deny, but I could count the one's he's actually PRODUCED over the last year on one hand.

Will you pack it in with this 'I'm offering an opinion, you're telling me facts' shit, please?

I am offering an opinion on Cox's performances. And I'm trying to back up the opinion why I don't think he's dire. All you're doing is saying 'he's dire' and 'get him out of the club'.

But other than that - no, I don't think we will agree on this. Ho-hum.

If I was in Cox shoes I would get the hump if Loft was prepared to me. How can this possibly be the right decision as I rate Loft as one of our worst ever players of all time let alone this season. He is only at BHA because he isnt good enough for Lewes or Eastbourne Borough.

Alan is right on this one. Cox whenever I see him play is a trier. Ok, some of the things do not come off but 15 goals from midfield in 70-80 games is a decent return and he has moments that can change games. He has not had a great season but he is a talent and certainly worth his place in the squad. We cannot afford to drive promising young players out of the club. Coxy's tantrums to me shows he cares unlike some players we have had that couldn't care less if they are in the squad or playing as long as they pick up their cheque each week.

Lets cut Cox some slack and I am confident he can add a great deal to the last 13 games and push towards another double digit goal tally.

Agreed. However, surely he DOES have someone close to him in his profession - the very man who got him playing at this level and nurtured the talent he obviously does have now - Dean Wilkins.
If you and I and many others believe he still has a way to go to maturity and knowing how to apply his talent, then it appears it's entirely down to him to apply himself.

Like is said, youth is wasted on the young - lads have all the adrenaline, tenacity, spirit and physical co-ordinates available to them, but don't possess the wisdom, experience or resolve. These sportsmen have a FEW years to seal their future and stamp their name in history through their profession, and usually lots of time after that to revel in the fruit of those labours.

Nobody speaks from a point of 'knowledge of all things' - but I doubt if players get anything at all from someone shouting "you're shit" from the terraces, or any other stupid one-line put downs just blurted at them.
