Pictures of plans etc due online next week according to the Insider.

Anyone able to summarise the Q and A from last night and post any photos of the plans etc which were on show?

Lazy journo alert! :p

To be fair, the Q & A was very drab. There is an audio link up now on Seagulls Official site.

MP covered the points very well in his statement.

The only Q & A highlight for me was the fan that tried to get commercially sensitive info from the panel and quite rightly got rebuffed.

Not at all. Just interested and cannot be bothered to trawl through the arguments on the other thread.

Also, can't believe it is taking until next week for the club to have the images etc online...

that does seem stupid - although maybe they want to encourage people to buy this saturdays programme to see them before giving them away for free on the net

Q&A answers i can remember:

There will be 16 lifts

People will be able to view the building site from specific locations and webcam, but won't be allowed on the site

Financial info is "highly commercially sensitive" although the stadium will cost "in excess of 50 million" with money coming from various grants and a bank loan which will probably be paid back over 15-25 years

The stadium will have a sponsors name, but will be the XYZ Community Stadium

It is unlikely that there will be any problems with the 6 planning applications but please send letters in anyway

The club are determined to see the crowd full and will adopt an appropriate marketing campaign. They will NOT be complacent about crowds, and will price the ground sensibly so as many fans can go there as possible.

Although fans will probably want a singing area behind a goal, they will try to ensure that the acoustics of the whole stadium are loud

The stadium will look good from a distance, and will not be "buried in a hole"

Kev can get a civil partnership at the stadium

Agreed. BHA are not the most technically minded club :(

It's not that hard to webcast 'live' which should have happened last night.

BARRETT from the Argus managed to get back to his office after the meeting and write up the story to be online this morning.

Don't see why the club's website cannot manage similar.

Because they are publishing a 16-page special in the match day program on Saturday - and then releasing the info on the website. Seems a perfectly sensible plan to me - although I am itching to see the new pics etc..

A few pictures and a short story online would have taken next to no time and could have been a TASTER for the matchday programme.

Brighton have plenty of fans who won't be going to the match on Saturday who would be interested in the info...

So they might even sell an extra 1-2 tickets for Saturday to some people who are undecided at the moment, as well as a shitload more programmes? Selling more programmes and tickets?!? What on EARTH is this club up to??!:jester::angry::jester::thud::thud::thud:

I'm finding myself in agreement with Richie Morris.

As I said...

A few pics and a short story would act as a nice TASTER for Saturday's prgramme and would probably satisfy the thousands of people who could not make the meeting and will not be at Withdean.

Don't see that as a particularly unreasonable attack on the club...

I agree, it would certainly whet my appetite!

But isn't that what they've done?

The presentation content and verbal delivery was Ok, however the supporting visual aids were far from slick (laughable at times). However I would expect nothing less from the Albion, the way we always do these sorts of things remains an endearing factor about the Albion to me. The day it becomes all polished and generic I will start to worry that the faceless corporate machine has taken us over. The day the Supporters Club don't 'do a raffle' will be the end of the world I tell you!

On the downside, the open mic questions attracted a few cretins banging on about personal points (mostly fringe information like number of lifts, colour of handrails, civil partnerships, fans swearing section, etc) with one vocal chap bursting forward to demand all board members reveal their presence to the crowd.

All in all, an entertaining evening. I certainly learnt a few interesting things about the application (for example the city college facility where they intend running construction courses - one of which involves building and dismantling an full size house undercover).

Nice to see so many old faces in The Albion beforehand too, many old hands there from the Goldstone protest days.

Twenty questions -

1. Disability Discrimination Act (facilities for people with visual and hearing impairments)? Will be provided.

2. £5.5 million from SEEDA, via the City Council ... is this ring-fenced? Yes.

3. Can away fans use the Hikers Rest?

4. DDA Access / handrails / lifts? 16 lifts; super-elevated views for wheelchair users.

5. Supporters' involvement in digging the foundations? A big event will be planned.

6. Size of mortgage? Realistic; robust repayment plan; advice of PWC; detail is commercially sensitive.

7. Expansion beyond 22,500? One step at a time.

8. Atmosphere needs to rock. It is designed to do so.

9. [From former leader of B&H City Council] Will the six planning applications run the risk of delay? Use your influence, Simon.

10. Can people object to the planning applications? Yes. But the indications are that the City Council is being very supportive. Politicians are aware of the benefits of supporting. At the right time, fans can write in and keep the pressure up.

11. Facilities for Seagulls club members? Yes.

12. Indoor training facilities? At an upgraded training ground.

13. 'Memorial Bricks for Loved Ones'? A plan is being worked up.

14. Where are the Club's Directors? In the room.

15. Club shop at the ground? Tickets on the day? Club shop in Brighton? Yes, yes, yes.

16. Naming rights to be sold? Yes. To a quality bidder. 'The New Goldstone' is ruled out. Name will include the phrase "Community Stadium".

17. Visiting the site during construction? A viewing area will be available. And a webcam.

18. How to attract big crowds? Club is very conscious of the Withdean situation and the need to tap into potential, by incentive schemes. Performance on the pitch is an important factor.

19. Does the stadium really need to be hidden? The whole plan is to mould it into the landscape, but it will be impressive and majestic.

20. Will we be able to get married or hold civil partnership ceremonies there? Why not?
