I don't normally moan and I try and always see the positives from a game, didn't think Yeovil was that bad, heartened by some of the stuff at Cheltenham. But last night was well and truly AWFUL.

1. First time I saw Cox at Rotherham last season I thought he was really exciting. What the hell has happened to him? All he did was sit deep and play balls down the line or swing deep crosses like some glorified full back. Didn't get down the line until very late in the 2nd half, and every time he tried to hold the ball up he lost it. If thats what Wilkins wants from the left wing then play Fraser or someone there.

2. However, Richards could effing well help Cox out. The guys clearly got ability, but whatever happened to overlapping full-backs. Don't just sit in your comfort zone Richards, get forward.

3. Reid, YOU might think your best position is central midfield, .......................

4. What the f*** is David Martot doing on the pitch???? In the handful of games I've watched this season he has contributed nothing. Diddily squat. Is there some kind of clause in his contract meaning he has to start every game? I really really don't understand this and can someone please please enlighten me as to why he plays?

5. The only people getting down the wing , probably the only two who actually got a cross in were Forster and Whing, which says all you need to know about the contributions of Martot and Cox. Decent runs and crosses as well from Forster, but he should be in the middle to get on the end of them, he didn't have anywhere near a shot on goal all night, except for almost getting on the end of Cox's free-kick WHICH WENT STRAIGHT IN AND THEREFORE FORSTER WASN'T INTERFERING WITH PLAY AND THUS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A f***ing GOAL!! AAARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHH.

6. Wilkins - I'm a supporter of yours but your team selections are starting to wind me up. Its clear that as soon as Robinson and Fraser came on we had more attacking drive, potential and guile - why not start with them. I know some on here knock Fraser but I've been impressed every time I see him, and he has to be a better option than Reid. As for Robinson, the guy needs space to run into - so its pointless throwing him on when we're losing, as per every single bloody game lately - he was getting marked by three men, and still did a good job. Start with Robinson from now on, please, please..................

7. Starting with Elder as a 'go on, have a game, and see what you can do, coz you'll be back on the bench soon' is a sign of WEAK management. We've paid 300k on Murray, he showed signs of absolute CLASS (hope he can finish just as well - then we have a star) is clearly fit and should have started.

8. Really pissed off with the 'freeek' taunts from our fans - childish, offensive and boring. Thought we had more humour, wit and class than that. The guy didn't even do anything to piss us off, and showed more ability on the ball than half our team.

9. Finally, why couldn't the ref have realised that Elphick's tackle was the second best of the game and wasn't a free-kick, instead of lamely booking Richards for dissent afterwards, and, if he knew Cox's free-kick had gone in direct why couldn't he have over-ruled the linesman instead of booking Fraser for dissent after?

my proper rant is the POINTLESS long high balls to the left wing to COX from El Abd (did it at least 10 times yesterday)

WHY WHY WHY!!!

He is tiny, and cant win a header, and when he does get it, he runs it as far wide as he can, only to cut back in and cross the ball behind the forwards

Freak chants were childish and bordering racism!!

It seemed to me that the problem was the tactics. The idea was to play it into the channels and let Forster and Elder chase it. The problem obviously being that this left only one striker in the box to get on the end of the cross. Looked like they were maybe trying to avoid the Northampton full backs. f*** knows why. But Martot played far too narrow, and neither winger wanted to run at his man.

Agree entirely about Richards, don't know what he was doing. Reid was slightly off the pace. I realise that he's had a serious injury, but how long does it take to come back from that kind of thing? It's been a seriously long time now that he's been 'on the comback trail'.

The offside rule is far too complicated in the kind of situation we had for the freekick, it's no wonder the officials make mistakes. If Forster was putting off the keeper (i.e. standing in a position where he could have easily changed the flight of the ball) he is interfering with play because the keeper has to try to be in a position to save his potential header. It's annoying but it does make sense. They should simplify it; if a player is offside, he is offside. None of this interfering with play bollocks.

On last night's showing Fraser should definitely be ahead of Reid, I can't argue. The problem with Robinson is that he's so inconsistent. However I think relying on him as an impact player to change the game is conversely putting too much pressure on him; I think he needs a run of games in team, to show that we value his all round ability, not just his ability to be a 'wildcard'.

I backed Wilkins when he selected Elder, on the basis that he has far more to go on in terms of the relative fitness, etc of the two players than any of us. However, if the rumours about Elder leaving are true, his decision to pick him (not aided by a very piss poor performance from Elder) makes no sense. Murray, thankfully, looks from what we saw a hell of a player, and I can see him and Forster (and Dixon as an impact player) scoring a lot of goals in whats left of the season.

I didn't hear the freak chants. But it's not exactly a clever insult is it? The 'you're just a crap Peter Crouch' chant was much better.

I didn't understand the free kick at the time, it was a great tackle. The subsequent booking of Richards just rubbed salt into the wound.

Two more questions for the great and good...

how was Robinson offside? It looked like he ran from between two defenders?

what was Kuipers booked for? was it timewasting?

It's supposed to be offensive, although the last time I heard that was for steve flack against Exeter at Priestfield. I'm sure he got the winner.....
If you target a player for stick sometimes it puts them off and sometimes it spurs them on.
