Won titles with 3 different Italian Clubs.
Won La Liga
Has years experiance @ 61

Question mark being not many European titles but can't have Martin O'neil due to the anti Irish link..........Like it or not our Protestant passionate fans are the life behind this team

Fabio Capello - No other choice , he wants it + ticks the boxs

yes yes f***ing england thread

There's no rush and the dickbrains at the FA should wait a while before doing anything. That way a couple of unexpected candidates might show some interest.

Rushing things last time is what has set English football back god knows how many years.

our 'protestant passionate fans' wouldn't like an irishman but they would like an italian?

anyway, o'neil isn't up to the job regardless of his background, and agreed, capello would be a superb candidate, and one who has said he'd like the job

You're not real. You CAN'T be real. That's the best thing I've ever seen. Ever.

I think in young Dougal's mind is the view that Irish catholics all support the IRA whereas the wop ones don't. Give O'Neill the job and he'll be shoving a bomb on the team bus before you can say Easter Rising.

I wonder if Roy Keane would like the job?

Worthing
Just heard Capello on the radio - not a word of English. If he got the job he'd need an interpreter but it would have to be someone who could understand the coaching lingo and get it across to the players. Isn't that where Mourinho started?

This should not be too much of a stumbling block as many of the foreign premiership managers have had the same problem but overcame this. The lingo did not seem to cause Capello any problems in Spain either

Capello would be a great appointment

Couldn't he learn English - he will have a lot of spare time on his hands

We should employ a caretaker (Pearce?) until the end of the Euros.

Will be more/better candidates available then.

Can we afford to do that with world cup qualifying in September? A top class manager has thrown his name into the hat and we should snap his hands off. What if there are no better candidates around at that time I mean its hardly like people are jumping at the job now is it??!!

Get Capello in now and as we are not at the Euro's use the chance to get some friendlies against the better teams that are there to give some of the future prospects experience of what it takes to play against top European sides.

Does he spika da lingo ?
A bit, he's not fluent. But he's an extremely intelligent man, we have a year until we play a real match, I'm sure he can learn it in that time. You can always have someone who speaks both Italian (or Spanish which he is also fluent in) and English as a go between until he does. Like a Ramos/Poyet thing at Spurs.

Hasnt he been linked to match fixing?
He was managing Juve at the time and won the title they were stripped of, but he wasn't implicated in the scandal.

I don't see the need to wait and see now, who better than Capello might become available? We should get him in now, before someone else snaps him up.
