Tickets by phone

Apologies if this has been dealt with before but what is the reasoning behind the ticket office deciding not to sell tickets by phone ?

You can do it online, by post or by fax but they wont do it by phone.

I never got as far as actually talking to someone in the office so could not ask.

Don't know, but I wanted 2 for Cheltenham and was told yesterday I couldn't buy them over the phone. I said I didn't have a fax and couldnt 'pop in' as I live in Bristol. "Sorry but there's nothing we can do" !!
Its good to feel wanted.
