seeing as every time i buy the argus, Big al appears staring back at me. (Must have the same agent as the Beckhams!).

curiosity got the better of me and i visited the very impressive website, however something has been troubling me.

Why is there twice as many Palace replica retro tops as BHA, is it Big Al's on the turn.

The NSC public as well as the children of Mile Oak demand a answer.

No. He's doing a new line of toilet rolls.

He does advertise quite a bit, either good rates or an over cooked marketing budget.

Nope, they're nothing to do with Metro. But then, I used to work for the company that once co-published the Brighton edition of the Metro as well (Medialab). Sadly, they went bust recently.

I now no longer advertise in the Metro.

So just out of interest what would Metro charge for an advert like yours ?

Talking of the ad in the Argus. On the day that the ad came out in the Albion pre-season feature, I received a phone call about it... NSFW

HIM: Hi, I've just seen your ad in the Argus. The chap that modelled for you, does he do other modelling?
ME: I don't know. He's just a fella who's a mate of mine, who was happy to model some shirts for me. Why do you ask?
HIM: Well, I represent an agency who are constantly looking for new modelling talent.
ME: Riiiight. OK. What's your name and who do you represent?
HIM: <He tells me his name> and if I give you a couple of websites, I'll show you the thing I mean... www.silverpro.net
I'm online in the shop at this point.
ME: OK, and what's the other website.
HIM: It's called www.englishlads.com
I have a look
ME: Um, I don't think he's really interested in that sort of thing.
HIM: Oh, that is such a shame, because he is SUCH a good looking man.
ME: Well, yes. But I can assure you that's not his thing.
HIM: Well, if you can persuade him and ask him to contact me, I would be most grateful. Bye!

SAKE.

I suppose now Medialab has gone to the wall, it's no great secret to let you know. They charged by column centimetre. I think the rate card was £10 per CC. You then got a different rate for booking a quarter page, half page or full page.

I got a nice price, however. I only booked one 5x2 (5cm deep by 2 columns wide) ad a week. They charged me £3.00 per CC. Any other days I was in there was for a filler ad on their part, and I never got charged for it.

I keep nagging the Argus to give me a 70% discount as well. Ho-hum.

Anyhoo, in answer to your original query, I have a load of Brighton shirts coming in this week - various styles, various sizes.

I was DELIGHTED to hear that you beat that team, especially as they had come in last week to have a gloat about how good they were, how shit you (and by inference - 'we') were, especially with their seven wins, no defeats record, miles ahead at the top of the league, yardie yardie yah, and how they were going to whoop us.

12-7 - Great result Ali. Nicely played, Brett. Woo-hoo!

I noticed the nice hoarding at withers as well...the man is a Marketing MACHINE!, although every time I go in his shop there is a grey haired bloke serving who doesnt know where anything is, and who, incidentally, does not support Brighton.
