Street stabbing kills 22-year-old

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in the street in a Sussex town.

Police said the 22-year-old had been involved in a fight in Vernon Terrace, Brighton, at 1945 BST.

The man, who has not yet been named, was pronounced dead on arrival at Royal Sussex County Hospital.

A 17-year-old boy, from the Brighton and Hove area, has been arrested and is being questioned in connection with the incident.

Police have cordoned off Vernon Street to allow forensic science experts to examine the scene.
