personally think the best ones are the young kid who somehow got bumped off in favour of that monkey man, and also the dude who played the guiter sitting down (don't know any names which is why vague descriptions). Both very talented but as they are black have no hope of winning

I would reserve judgement until Gaffer opines. Remember he is a singer.

OI

He is a very nice singer...you can tell he is not classically trained, however in this sort of competition he is very good.

Its a strange thing this Opera/Singer snobbery that exists. Russel Watson is what many call a "fake" tenor as again he was not classically trained, but I have no problem with this at all....if you are a good singer it doesnt matter if you have been trained or not.

Where it does matter certainly in Opera parlances, is when you want to try for parts or solo work. To correctly sing some complex classical pieces you have to be taught how to brethe and taught how to sing from your "diaphram" not your throat ( if that makes sense)

The really great Opera voices, Brynn Terfel, catherine Jenkins, carreras, domingo, pavarotti bochelli etc etc all make it look rediculously easy.....and trained since they were wee children. However they all have one thing in common...talent

Its a mildly entertaining show.

But for f*** sake, why do we always have to have some kind of hideous background "sob story" to accompany these acts ? Opera-boy with the chipped teeth is a sad loner who was always bullied for being different. The black guy with the guitar tonight is looking after his dead brothers kids. Dominic, the little kid with the amazing voice, got his bollock trapped in a VCR when he was five and accidentally hit "rewind" so he'll never have children.

I. DON'T. CARE.

Just do what you do and f*** off with your tragic life stories. Stand or fall on your ACT for christs sake.
