Don't you think modest fee probably means about the same as we paid for Henderson i.e. he's an unproven Premiership reserve that most of us will barely ever have heard of.

Still, can't be much less likely to score than what we've got

someone like matt derbyshire at blackburn. dont know how good he is, but he did go on loan to plymouth wondering if he liked being on the south coast. then again that report does say league 1 experiance not championship.

Absolutely - many of the names posted on here are utterly ridiculous, he isn't going to be anyone who has created many headlines at all because otherwise his fee would not be modest.

But that's the market we are in and let's hope he is the targetman type we need to play alongside either CKR or OGH.

Another name for consideration - James Keene. Pompey striker who has league 1 experience on loan with Bournmouth. With Redknapp buying strikers like theres no tomorrow the lad has to move on if he wants to make a name for himself.

*cough cough*

I think I mentioned him already. The only problem with him is that hes short, shite and has just gone on loan to Boston.

...it will probably be him then.:glare:

I'm another one who thinks it will be a youngster from a premiership club or one of the lesser name league 1 strikers. The likes of Eastwood, Sharp are well out of our price range.

How about looking at the type of player Magoo wants:

John Murphy of Blackpool? Always a handful and chips in with a far amount of goals.

Aaron Wilbraham - MK Dons - was a target in the summer.

Matt Harrold - Good young prospect.

Wont be Barnard, just signed a new deal yeasterday unless on loan.

from spurs.co.uk

Lee Barnard has signed a new two-year contract to extend his stay at the Club.

The striker has netted 17 goals for the reserves so far this season, matching his tally from last season which was a Club record in the Barclays Premiership Reserve League South.

The 21-year-old product of our Academy has scored 13 goals in his last seven games.

My money is on that McLeod bloke who scores all the goals for MKDons - the sort of tin-pot outfit that we're actually able to buy players from.
