See, you say "sexy" but the drummer looks and dresses (at points) like Mark Corrigan working at a NatWest.

Doesn't quite tie up with the punk ethos to me.

Apart from "incredible tunes", I don't really care about any of those things.
If that's your only criteria then guess what?

You should VOTE MANICS.

Their songs shit al over what the other bands in this group can offer.

If you change your mind and want more than just great songs then guess what?

You should still VOTE MANICS.

They shit all over the other bands in this group on every other front too.

Unless you're a rabid RACIST who hates the Welsh. In which case VOTE MANICS anyway.

Even if they go out at this stage, I'm just pleased the manics are having their moment in the sun.

However if they do go out, I would say you stole the sun fro........oh whatever

At time of speaking, the Manics are only 5 votes behind The Beautiful South.

Mods, be on the lookout for some interesting new Usernames joining the board ...

I admire your enthusiasm.

I'm pretty sure I saw them in Swansea a few years ago.

My sole recollection of the gig is Super Furry Animals being mildly irritating.

The manics also played Cuba. That's cool. Here they are meeting Fidel Castro. That may or not be cool depending on your viewpoint. Playing Cuba

In which case you should VOTE MANICS so everyone can know that Wales produces great bands and not just mildly irritating ones.

I know they're not long of this competition but they can't go out to madness and the f***ing beautiful south. :nono: 😭

Frankly all of Group A’s quartet are better than this selection.

I like the Manics, I've seen them live. Madness - the favourite band of thick kids at school. Beautiful South - meh. I preferred The Housemartins.

However, I still listen to Genesis regularly, and the music it spawned (Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Mike and The Mechanics). I prefer later Genesis to the early stuff but - that said - Supper's Ready is such a National Treasure of a song, so eccentric, so English, so prog rock.

f***ing Madness winning, honestly NSC, take a good hard look at yourselves. Who do you fancy in in the next group, Bad Manners? Chas ‘n Dave? Black Lace?

I love Madness, couldn’t vote for anyone else and I nominated one and seconded another in this group

madness are a novelty act, fact.

Genesis are the cornerstone of a movement. the early stuff was so often cited as inspiration for numerous other bands. Even when they became pop they sold millions.

Genesis sold more albums than Madness, Manic Street Preachers, and The Beautiful South combined. While all four bands have achieved significant sales figures, Genesis's extensive career and global popularity have resulted in considerably higher sales numbers over time. Madness has sold over 3.8 million albums in the UK alone, while Manic Street Preachers have sold over 10 million albums worldwide. The Beautiful South's sales figures are less readily available in a consolidated form but are generally considered to be lower than the other three bands

all of that third paragraph... I stole it straight from google.... word for word...cut and paste, very little actual effort. li,ke my job that I should be doing right now rather than type this.

anyway Genesis, for their self titled album especially although I also live Trespass with Peter G
