RIP Tango. While we’re in sad mood I will share that we have similar heartbreak at our place currently - different animal but same principle. In June 2007, at my wife’s insistence and years of expense, we bought a horse for her and her youngest daughter to ride and care for. This then led to a second horse a couple of years later and to the purchase in 2009 of a house with a couple of acres of land. We are/were not rich and horses are ###### expensive to keep so led to many sacrifices View attachment 204656but they really are lovely animals. Anyway when we lost the first in 2017 I think that was bad but last week we lost Tango who was 29 and had been with us for 18 years. To say my wife is heartbroken is a massive understatement.
Whether dogs, horses or whatever, animals are so lovely and a privilege for us to care for. RIP Tango
Ha! Been there many times but it’s fox poo that’s the worst imo - scent lasts for ages and the dogs bloody well love it!!My dog decided to roll in dog shit whilst out hiking with his dog walker this morning, he's currently banished to the balcony until I finish work and take him to the pet store for a bath, little fucker.
Thanks Seagull on the Hill - I’ve dealt with all the tack, rugs etc and given it all away to others or to horse rescue. My wife can’t deal with anything at all and bar one or two items wanted it to go asap to a good homeRIP Tango.
My wife had horses for many years , so I understand how devastated your wife is feeling .
Even though she said goodbye to her last horse more than 18 months ago, my wife couldn't bring herself to sort through his tack until recently, and is giving it to a horse rescue centre.
So sorry @Ooh it’s a corner - I never owned a horse but worked closely with them all through my childhood and teens so understand the amazing connection one can have.I’ve dealt with all the tack, rugs etc and given it all away to others or to horse rescue.
