Just spoke to someone in London, claiming to be a Palace fan with a loose friend connection to Parish. He says they are genuinely worried. They went into the meeting thinking they could just demonstrate easily that there was no conflict and came out of it with a "flea in their ear" and real concern that UEFA will strictly apply the rule.

Probably all brinkmanship, but sounds like they do have a very serious concern now.

Amazing that they appear to have thought they could rock up, say sorry and explain that it's not really a problem old chap. Amateurs.
If true, this would explain why they seemingly didn't bother doing anything up until very recently, deciding that "it'll be alright on the night" and they could just wing it

Absolutely this. They should have been working on this the second the final whistle blew in the FA Cup final. Yet it seems they did nothing until a couple of weeks ago.
They should really have been working on this before March 1st. It really is that simple. Not thinking you'll qualify via league position or the FA Cup is a nonsense excuse and deserves ridicule

I think you might be right - I've seen some of their fans claim that he is planning to put together an argument that kicking them out would be in breach of some UEFA resolution to support clubs with fewer financial resources etc etc etc
Except...

Let's be fair, if they'd come out an said they were fixing their ownership situation so they could compete in Europe next season in February, we would have ridiculed them for being so presumptuous.

And now we'd be eating our words...

"This UEFA thing is serious; the risk of us being thrown out of Europe is very real and the club is in complete limbo.

Fan action worked in 2010, and we all need to step up again.

We are not a mutli-club model. No-one could have predicted the outcome of last season before the UEFA deadline of 1 March and everyone knows John Textor has no power at the club.

It is ridiculous it has even got this far and is classic UEFA not communicating and yet they make exemptions to actual multi-club organisations lie Red Bull and INEOS.

Sporting integrity, fair play and natural justice are all at stake here - we need to do something and show UEFA they would be robbing us of Europe for the first time in our history.

We won the FA Cup fair and square, it's crazy we are even talking about this.

Alelksander Cerefin's email address is available online and I have emailed him letting him know my thoughts - we need to mobilise Palace fans everywhere and I urge everyone on the BBS to let UEFA know what is at stake,

His email is Aleksander.ceferin@uefa.ch

We were denied in 1991 and we cannot let this happen again."

I think that might backfire on them.

It's not as if organisations like UEFA (or FIFA for that matter) are interested in what fans think.

Why do they think the rules don't apply to them?

Subject: Urgent Request to Enforce Multi-Club Ownership Regulations – Crystal Palace Participation in Europa League

Dear Mr. Čeferin,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing as a long-time supporter of European club football and as someone who deeply values UEFA’s commitment to sporting integrity and fair competition. I would like to draw your urgent attention to what appears to be a clear breach of UEFA’s multi-club ownership regulations by Crystal Palace FC, and to respectfully request that UEFA take immediate action to bar the club from participation in the upcoming Europa League until this matter is fully resolved.

Background and Concerns
Crystal Palace’s ownership structure has, in recent months, expanded to include significant minority stakes in other European clubs—stakes which directly conflict with UEFA’s rules prohibiting “any influence or control” over multiple teams competing in UEFA competitions. Articles 2.06 and 2.07 of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations are unambiguous: no individual or entity may exert control over more than one club in UEFA tournaments.

Despite repeated reports and fan protests highlighting this situation, Crystal Palace have neither divested the conflicting interests nor provided transparent assurances that these stakes will be surrendered. Allowing them to compete under these circumstances undermines the fundamental principle of equal sporting opportunity and sets a dangerous precedent for other multi-club shareholders across Europe.

Why Enforcement Matters
  1. Sporting Integrity: Fans and clubs must be confident that every match is decided on the pitch, free from undue external influence.
  2. Regulatory Consistency: UEFA’s regulatory framework only holds value if it is enforced uniformly. A failure to act here weakens FFP and licensing rules across all member associations.
  3. Public Trust: Supporters invest not only their money but also their passion in European competition. Ensuring all participants adhere to the same rules preserves their faith in the game.
Requested Action
In light of the above, I respectfully urge UEFA to:
  1. Conduct an immediate and thorough review of Crystal Palace’s current ownership holdings.
  2. Temporarily suspend Crystal Palace’s entry into the 2025–26 Europa League pending resolution of the multi-club ownership issue.
  3. Require binding commitments from the club’s owners to divest or relinquish any interests that conflict with UEFA’s regulations before readmission.
Your leadership has long been a cornerstone of European football’s success. I trust that you will treat this matter with the seriousness it deserves and take prompt action to uphold UEFA’s rules and the integrity of the Europa League.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I remain hopeful that UEFA will continue to enforce its regulations without exception, ensuring a level playing field for all clubs and fans across Europe.

Yours sincerely,

Bozza

A couple of hundred emails from their Ultras, laden with emotion and opinion, devoid of fact and reason, will undoubtedly persuade Mr Čeferin.

They do so love being pompously didactic, so explaining to EUFA/UEFA/WaferThin how their own laws and regulations work is straight out their crayon-covered playbook.

Bless their little hearts.

It isn't though. 1st March was the deadline, the finish line, the date everything had to be done by. It wasn't the start date to put ducks in a row, the ducks needed to be packed and ready to go.
So essentially, as soon as your club has qualified for the fifth round of the cup or are not fighting relegation come the middle to end of February, you need to put shares in any other European club into a blind trust or sell them? Then if you don't qualify, buy them back if you can?
