I don't think we should sell to Newcastle for any price because they are a direct rival.
I know the journalist bonesaw deniers on this forum will laugh and scoff. But with their European exploits they will do well to keep that form that got them that high.
I'd say also to our public execution enabling friends from the north east, look at our record against you.
I think it's very probable we will be competing for a league place with the hand choppers. Let's see if we can flog to Liverpool, who will finish above us whatever we do

A lot of what youre reading is the classic fan attitude of great while he's here but at the first sign of 'attitude' or possibly wanting to move on then he becomes a shit player who's a borderline liability.
Ignore those posts.
Truth is he's a great player.
Cons:
Became a little petulant as the season wore on.
Goes down a little easier than you'd like but if you're ok with gordon you'll be fine with Pedro.
Doesn't score as many goals as you'd expect a player of his ability would

top class link up play
can create something from nothing
positionally fluid
incredible penalty taker
I'll be sad to see him go, if he does.
I'm also not sure where he fits in to your team. He's obviously not as good a 9 as Isaak. His best position is behind the striker but as far as I'm aware you don't play anyone there. He's also very good on the left of a front three and while a different option to Gordon I'm not sure he's significantly better to justify spending 60-70m or whatever the price will be.

Had 10 months of Sky Sports sponsored sale of Isak. First few months of it were beyond annoying, but it's begun to putter out now and all a bit boring. It's been a story that was manufactured to begin and grew its own legs off the back of places like Sky Sports and other content swamp monsters forever spouting nonsense.
Basically all the 2+2=5 boils down to
- Isak wears 14 and Arsenal seemingly having a divine right and first dibs on any forward player that vaguely resembles a Thierry Henry regen.
- Arsenal need a striker
- Elite players shouldn't be allowed to be playing for anyone outside the established 'top 6' in the eyes of football media (I'm sure you've had same with anyone that's good here).
- Pickle-brained herberts like Paul Merson exclaiming 'just go out an get him' on TV constitutes the basis of a transfer rumour.
Reality is, we need to give him a new contract. That contract will make him highest earner and blow apart our wage structure. Likely have some sort of release clause attached to it. We're in process of negotiating that contract with him. No problem paying him what he wants, he's earned it and could go anywhere and get 300k a week at drop of a hat. Quality of our negotiation will be dependant on what stipulations are tied into any clauses (x price if we are out of CL football etc.)
Going back to the uninformed media angle, people on TV/Radio saying we might be forced to sell for PSR are talking from their arse. We've realigned PSR now and in a position of 'f*** you'. It's a sellers market for us now, and will continue to be so all the while we are recruiting well and not spunking money up the wall on duds like Man United do. Now we are the right side of it, PSR can be beneficial for us, as we don't need or want to sell and won't be forced into doing so unless it's figures that are simply unattainable to clubs. Reality is, Liverpool are not paying £150M for Isak, and Man City are not paying £100M for Tino Livramento.
It's up to us as a club to keep that trajectory moving forward, and match the ambitions of the players we've recruited like Isak, Bruno, Tonali. Next challenge and even par for next season will be to qualify for CL again next season while progressing into knockout stages of CL. If we can't do that, we've only ourselves to blame if we can't keep hold of the blue chip players we have in the building.
We are crying out for another player in attack that would fit the profile of JP. Lots of talk that Howe wants to play another player with Isak, not just in rotation with him. Which would tie into rumours, if led to believe, of our talks to Mbuemo, Delap and Cunha over last couple of weeks that never came to fruition.
We defiantly need to rework how we play. There are form tables that I've seen that have us 2nd or 3rd in the table over some pretty lengthy periods post Christmas I think - but some of the performances on the field have been really ropey that have been ever increasingly consistent for last 2 seasons. Howe's style and what a Newcastle performance can look like will be physically dominate teams, often direct in nature, and can blow teams away in short periods and take games away from them where we then sit back deep and control games that way - very Simeone mid 2010s. When that's not working we are f***ed, often very little creativity or guile, predictability in patterns, and no real Plan B in how we can break down sides.
The whole squad has been running on fumes basically since the Cup final win. We were 3-0 up away at Leicester through very much style just described above, it could have been 5,6,7 but we just needed to conserve energy, similar to games against Man U at home, Chelsea against 10 men we didn't have the spunk to be controlling games with the ball and pressing any longer. Howe-ball has fully goosed this squad last couple of seasons.
Also (and no idea how true this is) we’re only going to lose a certain number of first team players this summer and if we lose JP it makes it more likely probably two of Mitoma, Baleba and JPvH will stay, and I’d keep any of them over Pedro.

please tell me that’s some black and white tinted glasses made up figure? Because he’s not even worth 50m let alone 100mgenuinely never been impressed with him. Loads of better options than him to the big clubs
100m is the figure that's just plucked out from our fanbase. He cost us best part of £40M after being out injured for a year. He is very good, still young, very athletic, can play both sides, pocketed Salah in cup final and bossed whole left flank that day, aways turns up in big games. Point is we don't need to sell players we don't want to due to our PSR being happy and healthy. £100M is the take it or leave it sort of price, that if a club is daft enough to pay it - go on then. Like you lot did with Caicedo.
Don't even know what validity there is in the rumour. Just that weasel transfer-grabbler Romano keeps tweeting his name and Man City every few days.
