Absolutely nothing to do with towels, Albion or otherwise, although along the same lines. I was in Athens on a city break in February, and as l normally do whenever l am on holiday, l was wearing a Brighton baseball cap.

I was getting out of a taxi a taxi when the driver noticed my cap, and suddenly started screaming at me what sounded like aik! aik! aik! and pointing excitedly at my said cap. Then it suddenly dawned on me, he was saying AEK like a word rather than three initials.
It turned out he was a fan, insisted on giving me a hug and telling me his name was Costas.

He then delved into the glovebox and came out with a crumpled yellow AEK cap, the inevitable followed, he is now the proud owner of my Albion cap, and l recieved his crumpled old AEK one in return.

He didn't charge me for the journey. Isn't football wonderful sometimes?

Yeah when we were drawn against them, a friend who's pretty knowledgeable with Greek football was calling them that - it's the "proper" way to refer to them apparently.

Brilliant story. Love those type of interactions.
