I love Bowie, near enough from the eponymous album to Black star.
Possibly my least favourite of the Berlin trilogy is Low.
It’s okay, but, it isn’t as good as Heroes or Lodger. IMO, obviously.
It’s still a lot better than Never let me down, and Earthling, neither of which I like for different reasons.
Of his later albums, Heathen is my favourite, but, the best Bowie album is Hunky Dory, always been just about my favourite album ever.

They are wrong.
Track 1 .... "I wanna be adored'. Absolute banger
Track 2 ... Can't remember but it was pretty good
Tracks 3 to whatever ... Mostly crap
I am the resurrection.... Which was the soundtrack to idiots dancing with each other on crap stag events that I have had to deal with.

I think Low is the best of the Berlin trilogy. It’s all subjective. Also, Black Star is an incredible album.

Lodger is my favourite Bowie album. Hunky Dory a close second
Never Let Me Down is pretty much the most disappointing thing that anyone ever did.
But I enjoyed the live show

I listened to Never let me down when it first came out, gave it a couple of listens, in fact.
Didn’t like it, so never really put it on again. During lockdown I made myself listen to it every day for about 2 weeks to see if I was missing something, if it had improved with age.
Longest 2 weeks of my life. I still struggle to believe it is a Bowie album.

I’m not having a pop at Low, it’s a good album, just not my favourite of the 3 Berlin albums.

By the critics the answer has to be Oasis “Be Here Now”. They slept on “What’s the Story (Morning Glory)” and massively overcompensated by hyping BHN as way, way better than it really was (a bloated, overproduced very average pop-rock album).
They got Morning Glory wrong, and those same critics didn’t want to make the same mistake twice, and ended up looking foolish both times.

The Stone Roses discussion is interesting. When we're talking about most 'over-rated' I guess we mean hyped up and venerated by critics and so on. I was living in a sort of hippy commune in North Wales when it came out. We had no telly, no radio (except for Atlantic 252), only got a paper every other week or so - so we weren't influenced by any hype, promotion or crowd fervour. And generally, our main music intake was going to listen to The Jukes at the Bop in Menai Bridge once a fortnight for an evening of live rhythm and blues.
One lad bought the Stone Roses tape from a shop in Bangor - and to be honest, we couldn't listen to it enough, as it was so different to what we had (and Atlantic 252) and so different from some of the crap around in the late 1980s (first half of the 80s was fantastic - but post 86/7 it tailed off). We were all hooked. I went travelling for a year afterwards, and missed listening to it, so bought another tape of it in the outback of Western Australia.
So, however people might now think it was over-hyped - at the time it was pretty awesome. And for those of us that found this then, it's difficult to say it's over-rated now. It was a product of its time.

At some point you have to appreciate that. If "Time Will Crawl" is the best song on the album. .... You are listening to a shit album
