The Avenue then Maloncho
Other The famous Newhaven F.C

Not funny. They’ve got a big supermarket, a ferry port, a KFC and two railway stations. A league club would be too much for us to take.

They’re bitter buggers though, despite all the above someone still wrote to The Arsegas a few years back complaining that Peacehaven had THREE stops on the 12X and they only had one 🤣

I can only assume the disparity is down to the number of people desperate to escape Peacehaven. :lolol:

Heart says Worthibg but as far as in a good location to attract good gates Hastings must have best potential.
Have always followed non league and enjoyed attending when free. However have always felt to be in Div 2 to survive comfortably should have potential to attract 5/8k Otherwise end up like Accrington who get about 2k and just moan they should get more handouts
Would be interesting to know how much clubs in Div 1/2 National league and Nattioms leagues get handed down from PL and EFL

:lolol: Don’t start me on the 12X.
As you will know there are 2 12X stops on the one way system in Newhaven heading towards Brighton, but why are the stops approx 1 minute walk from each other?
Can you have a word and get one moved nearer to my house? :moo:

I’ll tell you why Elim Church was selected as a stop but it’ll have to be in person and somewhere we can’t be seen.

Have you ever seen Gorky Park? I don’t want to end up with my face chopped off and buried in the snow.

Think Worthing would have the best chance of sustaining themselves at, say, League Two level.

Hastings have the potential but it's a long way to climb from the Isthmian South East!

None.

This should be a one club county.

I love seeing the shirts and scarves and coaches appear when I get 25 miles from Brighton on my drive to the matches.

Good old sausage by the sea. ???

Neither here nor there
In reality I don’t think any of our current NL clubs has the infrastructure, resources or (potential) fan base to last long in League 2. But it’s fun to see some of them edging that way.

Voted Eastbourne as they’re the team I have most affinity with and it was enjoyable watching them in the National League a decade or so ago.

Worthing
Worthing.

Great little club, often with Albion links, in a large & improving town nearby. Great potential and good & growing fanbase.

Follow them to the point I'd consider them my 2nd favourite club now.

Keep missing out on promotion, but it's only a matter of time for them.
We said that in the 80s, when they hard arguably a better team than now….

Hope you’re right…..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't the last couple of seasons been their highest ever finishes in the league by some margin?

They are also likely to break their all time record attendance next season.

I go and watch Lewes, like a couple of others on here, and I agree with their points. I'm torn on it though, because I want the club to do well and not struggle financially, but getting promoted to the football league would remove the things I like about going. I want to watch non league football, that's sort of the point.

This is a good point. The rise in popularity of non league football, not just in Sussex but nationally, is partly because it offers something different to football higher up the pyramid

Personally I think it feels like watching football years ago. I can decide on the day if i want to go, its relatively cheap, I can stand with my mates, we can drink beer on the terrace, i like going to away games, and away fans are generally very friendly. The match day experience is the biggest part of it I think, and it deteriorates the higher up you go.

I voted Hastings but I'd add Worthing. Two towns that are big enough to sustain league status and push on due to their populations.

I spent alot of time in Hastings as a kid, went back a couple of years ago and it seemed to be thriving. It was quite a depressing, run down place in the 90's.
