 What a strawman.

They’re not irrelevant, they’re brilliant to have, and I’m pretty sure most of us would take 17th and any silverware that isn’t the Community Shield over just an eighth place finish.

But you HAVE stunk out the league this season and it would have MASSIVELY helped your case if you’d a) won your trophy playing good football and b) beaten a decent team in the final. It’s well established neither of those things happened - take off the white and navy blue specs once you’ve recovered from your hangover!

You don't seriously believe that trophies don't count as much if you haven't played good football or beaten Man City?

I'd take a night like Wednesday every season playing Pulis football if necessary. Even if it upsets the purists.

And you don't seriously believe that trophies don't mean anything to anyone and that league position is all that matters. It's not our fault that you're acting like a complete drip because all those people on the nasty internet keep telling you that Spurs are shit

The bottom line is that rather than crying on here,.just a) revel in your trophy win and b) remind people that you had to qualify (by finishing 6th place by the way) in order to even enter the tournament.

Personally I had a brilliant time in Bilbao. Our 4th European Trophy. Fantastic parade today as well. Modern football fans are amusing though. Apparently trophies have become irrelevant again and league position is the important thing.

Note to self: must keep up with social media trends.

Just good old British sense of humour/mocking, predating the internet by millennia. No need to be sensitive when it’s meant to be a good time for you.

For me your win has meant the greatest Manure meltdown ever.

There seems to be a very long list of rules for European qualification, style of play and appropriate opponents on here. I'll start making notes.

Anyway, enjoy Sunday (the easiest 3 points you will get this season). Fingers crossed for the European spot and good luck going forward.

I don't take it seriously. I live in Sussex and have a lot of BHA friends. As we all know, social media is not real life.

What are you talking about? The football fan community has simply collectively enjoyed laughing at a final between the two shittest non-relegated clubs in the Premier League. It's really that simple. Now please dry your eyes as you're embarrassing yourself.

This, enjoy the long awaited win (and do lord it over clubs that are actually obnoxious like Utd and Arsenal - bit bizarre to beat us with this stick when most of us wanted YOU to win the final) but be willing to laugh at yourself because it has not been pretty getting here.

We don’t even count wins over City, just read the various post FA Cup Palace threads

The worst final I think I've ever watched too, which was very fitting. If ever there were a less deserving trophy winner

Not pretty but good fun.

As I said, an easy 3 points for you on Sunday. Good luck going forward.

I thought I was great.
Of course spurs fans don't give a shit and think it was great, but everyone else in the entire football world thought it was a f***ing dire football match between two dire football teams who have been an utter shambles this season. You surely have to admit that it was all a bit of a joke. Bodo glimt in the semi final ffs? 🤣 I wanted spurs to win but had to laugh, like every other neutral, at the fact that the goal was also a complete dog's dinner

It may have been a bad joke but the punchline was fabulous. As for the goal, it takes a magician to waft the ball into the net by air current alone.
