What would be funny is Palace get raided and the manager goes too, and they cannot cope with Europe and the league, that would be comical.

Is it time we mix up how relegation works and introduce relegation play offs? Something like bottom two go down automatically then the next four teams go into a play off, semi and then final....Loser goes down? Thoughts?

Could the PL quickly introduce that for THIS season?

Farke and Parker both unproven at Premier League level let's be honest, can see both of their sides struggling. Whoever wins the play offs will be cannon fodder - so I reckon we'll still end up with the 3 that come up going back down.

Established teams to struggle for me are Everton as the squad still needs a fair bit of work (but they'll probably find a way as ever to stay up), West Ham (same comments) and possibly Bournemouth.

Reckon they'll lose at least 2 or 3 of their better players plus maybe the manager.

Good points, out of established teams, Man Utd will be around there, I hope and think, Palace could well be with Europe and if they sell, Everton won't, West Ham probs my favourite if they don't kick on and invest to suit Pothead.

Not saying I think Burnley will survive but Parker/Kompany are complete contrasts.

Parker's Burnley only let in 16 in 46 games last season - 30 clean sheets in a crazy league.

They have a much better chance of survival than Kompany's team/style did.

They'll have watched Palace defend their way to the FA Cup and realised that they too have a tremendous chance of survival if they play those tactics in the Premier League.

I think they'll stay up if they maintain their excellent defensive record. They just need to make sure they can get the odd goal on the break.

Was having a discussion in the pub yesterday afternoon with a Sunderland supporting colleague. He fully expects it to be the three that come up going down again and it's hard to not agree with that. The gulf between the prem and championship is getting bigger as each year goes by.

Is it time we mix up how relegation works and introduce relegation play offs? Something like bottom two go down automatically then the next four teams go into a play off, semi and then final....Loser goes down? Thoughts?

So the teams who lose the semi final stay up, but the losing finalist goes down ?

Manchester United are in a real mess. This season they were lucky that the three promoted teams did so badly. But I wouldn't be surprised if next season gets even worse for them. Rumours of several players wanting to leave feels like rats and a sinking ship

Hope you're right, but I doubt it. Many of the 0 or 1 goals conceded will become 1 or 2 simply because a PL player will do something special that a Championship player can't do, or conversely a PL player will take the reasonable chance that a Championship player would let in.

Keeping Trafford is essential, but the owners' policy of heavy debt and sell to survive will probably mean he goes.

Three come up, three go down. The problem with the last couple of seasons is that now, there are no second year clubs, there are no clubs in the PL that haven't had several years to build solidly and get the squad up to PL standard. Who would any of the promoted teams have had to beat this season? Man U or Spurs. Not going to happen. 40 or more points needed to stop up? Not going to happen.

Hell no, not four. But I do like the idea of say 18th plays the championship play off winner, like they do in Scotland.

Has there been any non-big-6 clubs that have gone into Europe and not suffered a step down in form? Over the last 9-10 years I’m recalling it’s seriously affected: Leicester, Wolves, Burnley, Newcastle and obviously us last season. Villa are the only exception I can think of.

The more I think about the more I think it's a good idea. Tomorrow for example both Ipswich and Leicester would have something to play for as would Wolves, West Ham, United and Spurs. Instead there is nothing on it for any of them.
