'recommending'. Not 'implementing' then? And anyway, it will all change before 1 June - like all his other tariff impositions.

He still doesn't understand tariffs either. It will be the consumers who pay the tariff, not the company....

Interesting test of capitalism and democracy. What if Apple say to the public “it will still be cheaper to the consumer for us to make these abroad and consumers pay the 25% tariff than the 50% (or whatever it would be) increase we would see if made in America. Trump has decided that if you want apple you must pay 25% more”

it's happening quietly. US companies are saying they aren't moving world wide production to US because rest of world cant afford US produced prices, their business cant afford two production centres. some may adjust on the latter and move some key production onshore, still take years to do. this tariff story is a long way from finished.

50% on EU imports...
I am glad we’re not caving in to his demands. Let’s slap a similar tariff on US goods.

So what is Musk's axe to grind?
Musk is a white South African that appears to support far right parties such as AfD in Germany. Rather likes a Nazi salute too. What could his axe to grind be ..... hmmm

It may have been covered previously but I don't understand how he can get away with telling Walmart to 'eat the tariffs' or to dictate to Apple etc.
Why don't they tell him to do one? - I suppose they just stay quiet and trust he forgets.

Maybe the bosses are in on the grift of tanking the market and then making a potential fortune by buying the stock for peanuts?

I wouldn’t mind betting an iPhone made in China/India/Vietnam etc with circa 25% stuck on its price would still be cheaper than a wholly US produced/assembled version. Unless of course they are planning on using cheap migrant labour..oh, wait..

Give your goons prior notice, make announcement, make lots of money, reverse announcement, say something about Biden.

Repeat ad nauseam.

Piece of p1ss this MAGA lark.
Jimmy Carter having to place his peanut farm in a blind trust for the duration of his presidency was a very long time ago...

Trump is childish, petulant and vindictive. I would guess a lot of companies will try to lay low and just weather his idiocies.

It’s also such a stupid argument, “windmills are unsightly”. Has he seen an oil refinery?

"Let me tell you something — they’re beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Some of the most beautiful things you’ve ever seen. And the oil — that liquid gold — when it comes up, folks, it's like magic. It’s incredible. You see it flowing — it’s powerful, it’s strong, and let’s be honest — it’s kinda sexy too. The way those pumps go up and down — you’ve seen it, right? Up and down, very impressive. Very American.

We should have them everywhere. All over the country. Because when people see them, you know what they feel? Hope. Energy. Greatness. Not like those windmills — total disaster, by the way. Killing birds left and right. Beautiful birds — gone. They’re like bird cemeteries. Sad. But these — these oil pumps — they represent strength. They represent jobs. And they represent America."

Trump knows more about AI (and ChatGPT), than anyone. In fact, he invented the word 'ChatGPT'.

Bigly.

Worthing
I'll just say that I think Trump is deteriorating mentally and physically at a really fast rate. Wouldn't be surprised if he's nearly on his last legs.
Then what happens, JD Vance is president? That's not good either.
Vance IS next in line, yes. Worryingly

As a matter of interest I wonder what drugs he abuses.

Grew fast hand creme? Hmmm.

Now, Putin is a steroids and coke man...
