Didn't that happen yonks ago when Palace finished 3rd so they missed out.

English clubs were back in Europe when Palace missed out. Liverpool were meant to be banned for longer, but they appealed and were allowed back in for the 91-92 season. Which meant Palace's third place finish in the 90-91 season wasn't good enough for European qualification (no matter what they claim) as England only had places for 1st placed Arsenal (European Cup), 2nd placed Liverpool (UEFA Cup) and FA Cup winners Spurs (Cup Winners Cup). Man United also qualified for the following seasons Cup Winners Cup as defending champions.

Palace flagrantly misrepresenting actual reality?

This seems wholly out of character.

Where is the petition to be sent to UEFA to get Palarse disqualified from Europe next season ?
I petition for someone to start this petition.

You can't have one rule for one and another for someone else. All sounds a bit two tier, which ironically is two tiers more than they've built in their new stand.

I know people would say this was unfair or petty if they were banned, but other clubs (like us) have spent fortunes reorganising their structure and had transfer embargoes to remain compliant. So I'd expect to see the rules enforced.
Rules are rules. Tough titty

The thing is, the media made quite a big thing about the Forest owner changing his ownership model, it was hardly under the radar. So someone at Palace must have realised. As you say, tough titty.
It's also not to be taken lightly. It's not some paperwork failure. An organisational restructure and management change could cost millions I suspect?

You what?

They look likely to finish bottom half. That's not deserving of European football.

They got in (or hopefully not) through the back door by winning 3 games against lower league teams then 3 games against EPL teams that couldn't be arsed.

Merit my arse.
I disagree- they won the FA Cup, whether we like it or not that is an achievement, something we would love to do, and not one of us would say, actually we had an easy draw and don't deserve to be in Europe if we won it.

You can only beat the teams that you are drawn against, and Palace did that, whether it was an easy path , by penalties every round or not. The prize for doing so is an Europa League spot. Its sour grapes and jealousy to pretend anything else. Do I wish they hadn't won it-? Yes of course, Do I hope they crash and burn in Europe, yes I do, but they won their spot fair and square, we all need to suck it up and get on with it or we look like a bunch of sore jealous wannabes-exactly like many were accusing Palace fans of when we qualified

I dunno, it's not really sour grapes as such - I think the general consensus is that it would just be incredibly funny if their lack of foresight and organisational skill meant this happened. It's still pretty unlikely in reality.
Exactly this.

We all know UEFA aren't going to want to ban a Premier League team from the competition.
A compromise and a small smack on the wrist is how this will be resolved.

But a couple of weeks of watching Palace gnash their teeth and get angry at their shambolic ownership, helps knock some of the gloss off their "historic" FA cup win.

The first para is interesting and what I suspect would happen if our owner had not done something to comply. Bloom doesn’t strike me as the kind of man to get shafted like this (which is how he will see it because what is the point of complying if those that don’t get a slap on the wrist?).

If it plays out then I suspect it will end up in court.

I doubt it.

AFter Tony complied with the rules, The following season, United ad City developed the workaround of Blind trusts, to prevent them from having to change their level of ownership.

There was no legal action after that.

Didn’t someone else say they had closed that loophole?
